Essentially yes. Unfortunately, it is up to the individual to read any terms and conditions and raise any queries before signing their agreement.

I'm sure it doesn't help at all, but you're not the first and won't be the last to get burned by not reading the fine print - me included. I doubt you'll get anywhere if you've signed the agreement, though you have nothing to lose but your time if you roll the dice and send them a complaint letter.

Your issue is not with the bank. If you want to complain, complain to your school or your parents/guardians, who should have taught you basic financial sense. Or at least to read before you sign.
