VODAFONE - Complete morons

Been a customer with Vodafone for 7+ years.
My contract is up for renewal and they called and asked me what phone I would like, I told them the Galaxy S2, the guy said fine, but we will need to increase your current price plan of £21.50 up to over £30 !!
I told him NO, and that I was actually looking a Vodafone deal online that was way cheaper than £30 (and had a cash back offer to boot), he told me I was WRONG as they don't do cash back deals ... I told him that O2 do the phone and deal I want for £21.50 ... His answer was along the lines of - 'go with them then' LOL
I typed out a letter to Vodafone canceling my contract and stated that if they would like to retain me as a customer then they could simply offer me the same deal as O2 and I would be happy to stay ..... I received a letter back from them telling me they will be canceling the contract on the date that its up and also they wanted to know why I was leaving them (even though this was stated to them verbally, in writing and in an Email!!!!) and that they would be happy to try and do a deal with me (even though they refused and encouraged me to go with O2)
Their customer service (or lack off) has to be the worst I've ever encountered, all Indians who haven't a clue and just reading and typing off a script.

If you are leaving them, ring them up and ask for your PAC number so you can at least take your current number to your new provider.
Note: if you do not sumbit your PAC to your new provider, your vodafone contract will continue to run; your vodafone account will only then cease when you have submitted your PAC and the number transfer has been successful.0 -
Why are they morons? They refused to haggle with you. That's up to them. Deals on mobiles are no longer as easy to haggle as they used to be.
Also don't get a galaxy I have one and it's an unreliable piece of crap. Constantly crashes. Android just doesn't run well on it.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

Was the cashback on the Vodafone website itself, or a place like Phones4U? The guy may have been right in saying they don't give cashback, as it would be the reseller that would from the commission they get.0

Aww, really? I wanted a Galaxy for ages, I have a Wildfire at the moment and it's driving me insane with how slow it is. I was looking forward to upgrading!0 -

Sorry what ?
did you read the post ?
I sent them a letter detailing why Im not staying with them and they write back saying "why are you leaving etc. we would like to offer you deal" .....
Oh and as for the Galaxy being crap, this is the same one thats won numerous awards and been voted a better phone than the IPhone.
I know plenty of people that have it and are over the moon with it.0 -

Well that's not true for a start! I believe they do have a call centre in Egypt for technical support but their main call centres are in the UK (there is a huge one in my town).0 -
Also, as much as it's annoying when you see a better deal elsewhere, sometimes your provider will simply not be able to match it due to commercials, no matter how much they want to keep you. If it will cost them money to keep you as a customer then it's obviously not worth their while.0

Vodafone had the same attitude with me. Been with them for years and they offered me a terrible upgrade. Was happy to leave them and went with 02 and got the S2. Mine has never crashed and android runs brilliantly on it, fantastic phone.0
