    IN - Massage oil (sample)

I'm either going to have to stop signing up for trials (which will make me sad as I enjoy receiving the products to test) or I'm going to have to increase my usage.

There are a few things that I could put together into nice gift sets - unused Soap and Glory items, a FCUK mini set - but I need something to put them in to make it look like an intended set, if that makes sense - like little wicker baskets, or those small zippable plastic toiletries bags or something.

Anyone know where I might be able to find something suitable uber-cheap?

    Thanks!
    :-)

Sounds like a The range/Wilkinsons/Makro/Poundland type of thing to me... :) lovely idea :D

I was going to say the same thing - also primark - most of them do those travel sets with the refillable bottles that you could take out for your own use. I've seen them from 99p to about £8. My mum's doing something similar and is making her own sparkly gift bags with some xmassy material :D

I bought a lot of small baskets from ebay for quite a reasonable price. I believe they were in the florestry section but forget now. I got my cellophane from ikea and also got some from a local florist. Tied with a bit of florists ribbon which I then curled using the knife and thumb method. You can generally get florists ribbon from the pound shop.
I just typed in wicker baskets, new, in wholesale and lots have come up. There should be something suitable for you there.

£land sometimes have some wicker baskets too - I got some from there a couple of years back and have seen them since.

    Happy Friday lovely people!

I'm after a bit of wisdom if anyone has any :-) I sorted through my stash the other night to see what might be giftable for Xmas - I have a stack of gift sets that have either been bought using offers over the year or have been given to me in the past (not that old though!) and I've not yet or will not use. As I am rather broke after the house move, am going to try to use as much of what I already have for gifts as possible.

I'm using my old glossyboxes and boudoir prive boxes and saying I've made a thoughtful "beauty box" for the recipient. if you've got old slightly pretty boxes or unpretty ones and wrapping paper you could possibly do the same and get an added "really thoughtful!" bonus too!

  • Sarah, we should have done a west midlands thread convention in Birmingham Boots to test our resolve in the face of extreme toiletry provocation! We went to the German market, it was fab. Mercifully few toiletry items on sale, but lots of German sausage/ Berliner doughnuts/ German beer drunk out of a little ceramic boot with a handle. No wonder those German lasses are sturdy!

Anyway, to the UUs. Nothing for ages, then a tidal wave.

Neal's yard orange flower moisturiser for dry skin. WIBA? Yes. It was really good. It's for dry skin, which mine is not, but it suited me really well and sank in nicely. That might be because it boasts of having no mineral oil in it. Also smelled great.

Nivea body & soul skin oil. Had calendula, tangerine, cardamom and lavender in it. Smell was quite faint ( that might be because I've had it for some time, hmmmmm) but really nice. Reminded me of vaguely exotic 1970 s perfume. WIBA? I can't because it's been discontinued but even if it hadn't I probably wouldn't because I prefer a body lotion to an oil. It's a right pain when you've just got out of the shower because everything sticks to you!

Nivea pearl beauty roll on deodorant. WIBA? Yes. This stuff works best for me. I don't really get on with sprays.

Soap & Glory hand food hand cream. The tube says, "is this the most astonishing hand cream ever? You decide". Well, I have and it is. Smells great, isn't greasy and does the job brilliantly. So I WBA but not until I have worked my way through the EU hand cream mountain occupying my bathroom cupboards.

Tesco finest shimmering body fragrance. Recently unearthed in a gym bag. Smells just like Chanel Allure. WIBA? I wish. Tesco have discontinued it. Boo!

Boots sheer temptation lippy. Bought with a £5 voucher before I saw the light! WIBA? Yes, it was surprisingly good. Soft and glossy. I tend to be a bit lukewarm about number 7 but this was fab.

Rusk 'softwear' volumising shine lotion. From TK Maxx, like most of my random buys. Ended up with it because I needed a serum and this came with one in the pack. WIBA? No. It didn't seem to do much. Thought I'd never get to the end of it. Now back to working through my Lee Stafford poker straight gel, which is much better.

French connection shower gel. Lovely lemony herbal scent. WIBA? Yes, as soon as I get down to the dregs of my still fulsome shower gel collection.

More to come soon, I hope, because I have some splutterers.

    Have a nice weekend everybody.

Also forgot to add, two UUs

Ghost Sweetheart perfume - WIBA? - This was a Christmas present from DH a couple of years ago and I loved it.The scent was lovely and it lasted for ages so I'd definitely consider buying it. :)

Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume - WIBA? - This was a win and it really gave my hair a boost. It was a bit hard to get the white residue out of my black hair but nothing a bit of rubbing and brushing couldn't sort so I'd definitely consider buying it. :)

A UU fcuk fragence refill WBA as it was reduced and only 82p :D however feel like I'm needing a change from it just now.
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.

Happy birthday Lady M!! Glad you had a good birthday! We bought sister2 a Kindle for her birthday this year, and she loves it :) I have a three year old Sony Reader, and still love mine to bits, plus I no longer have to worry about where to pile all the books I've bought ;)

I fell asleep on the netbook the other night, was convinced I had posted and said I was IN for this month
I still have 2 Pantene samples to post out - I've not made it out of the door for a couple of days, I'm sorry about that. I also mislaid the book of vouchers and found them just this evening somewhere I was sure I'd looked already... I'd worry if it wasn't typical of me to do this with at least 1 item a month.

It's amazing what you unearth when you start looking frantically for stuff.

One UU - a 100g Tesco Shea B. Butter that was a gift in a 3 x 100g set in a sea grass tray . WIBA? Yeah, it's really good, liked the texture, scent and the way it rubbed in. I've got a pomegranate and rosehip partly used along with a mango and nectarine that I'm not so fussed on using as that was the one I trialled.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
