  • Thanks everyone for the good wishes for the viewings...

  • Morning. Got my 1st NSD of the month yesterday. I have one planned for today, but looking at the cyber Monday thing on Amazon, there are some books that look like they would be perfect for DS1, their normal price is a tenner cheaper than elsewhere, so I'll be ready for 12.30 when they go on sale. Actually thinking about it, I've already pretty much sorted out what to get him, but struggling with what to tell my mum to get him, so may order them and give them to my mum to give to him, thereby getting myself an nsd. Yes, that's the plan! :D

    LOL! I do! I loved Crackerjack..........Leslie Crowther, Peter Glaze, heaven! Crikey, we were easily pleased in those days! My dream as a child was to get either a Crackerjack pencil or a Blue Peter badge!
    Catching up after being AWOL this weekend.
    Yup Crackerjack was a favourite in our house, as well as BP...I did send a picture into Vision On once...and it was shown!! Crumbs, that was very many years ago :eek:

    Managed to nab NSDs 1 and 2 over the weekend and declaring today as NSD #3 :j Shopping tomorrow with a friend, so definitely NOT an NSD, but should nab a few more during the rest of the week.

    A bit nippy here today, and looks like the first big load of snow has fallen over Scotland and the north of England...take care everyone and keep warm!!

    Still nothing spent here. It's FREEZING here though, and the lure of Starbucks is strong, so I've just filled a flask with coffee to take back to work with me :A

    Happy Monday everyone, and here is a story to warm the cockles of your heart (wherever they may be, probably between the mush valve and the slobber sprocket? Must ask Igor, he's into all things anatomical).

    Saturday I took DS into town to do his Christmas shopping. We arranged to split up and meet in Cafe Rouge (I had vouchers towards a free lunch, courtesy of Mr T rewards). I realised he had been fiddling with my mobile phone in the back of the car and hadn't given it back to me. Caught up with him, no phone on him. No phone on me, went back to car, searched everywhere. Concluded it must have fallen out of his pocket somewhere in the car park and someone picked it up. Not very impressed, gave DS a bit of a hard time for losing my phone.

    On the market place he said "Will you stay here a minute amd wait for me? Won't be long." About ten minutes later he returned, having been into the O2 shop and bought a replacement mobile phone for me with a ten quid top up on it. That cost him £25 out of his £30 spending money.

    I was so touched he had taken the initiative to do that I drew some cash out of the bank and reimbursed him. We split up, did our shopping, couldn't get into Cafe Rouge as they were booked solid so DS said he'd rather just go home for lunch. (He'd had a successful Christmas shopping trip, most of the cash was spent in the pound shop, his favourite emporium!)

    On getting back in the car guess what I found down by the side of the driver's seat? My beloved mobile phone!

    So it was off to town this morning to take the new phone back and get a refund - chap in O2 shop was really good, full refund sorted, no hassle. I will seriously consider switching my pay as you go contract to them as I was so impressed with their service.

    So all is well that ends well. Not a NSD today though, as bits of food shopping done, however there will be more this week.

  • NSD2 for me today. Haven't been out, off to school for pick up soon, middly boy has piano later, but have cash for that out already, so it doesn't count. :rotfl:

    :eek::eek::eek::eek:

    Just got home from town and realised the man in the Post Office forgot to charge me for my book of 12 2nd class stamps. I was paying for two parcels as well and I remember thinking "oh that's not as much as I thought" when he added it up, but I was too scatterbrained to think any further than that... Feel rather guilty now. I didn't do it on purpose! Not sure whether to offer the money next time I'm in, but since the Post Office are a proper organisation perhaps it wouldn't work...

    :o Scatterbrained muffin :o
