A question on use abroad

I shall be visiting family in Africa this Christmas. If, once I arrive in the country visited, I need to phone them on their local land or mobile line what apart from the actual number do I have to dial? They also have a virtual UK number.

Use a payphone at the airport. If you call using your mobile, even if you use a virtual UK number, will still be expensive.

Good idea, if you have right money, but usually one only has notes or the wrong denominations. What then? That is why I asked the question for specific advice.

If you need to call a UK number from anywhere just dial +44Number. Do not include the leading "0". Actually, it's best to store all numbers in this format. Then you do not need to remember anything to dial from anywhere in the world.

Similarly, to call a local number just dial it (with or without the country code).
