Apologies but this is going to be harsh.......
You, understandably are pleased with his reaction with regard to your debts.
Remember this, when he eventually finds out about the other debt that you have NOT told him about do not be surprised if his reaction isn't quite so charitable.
You haven't 'fessed up, you have only told him half the story. In my mind, not the basis of a sound relationship.
BUT good luck repaying the money. It is a long slog but once you start you are one step closer to getting it paid off.
More importantly, have you curbed the excesses that got you into this predicament in the first place ?Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.0 -
Thanks!!
Yeh I dont think I'll get the reaction I'm waiting for - we went shopping last night (just for bare essentials) and we were walking around and he kept saying "Ahh we can't afford this now" - so in the end I just said "I feel bad enough without the little comments every 5 minutes... " his reply: Awwww I still love you muppet but I have to make the comments cos you can't get away scott free"
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Aww bless him! He loves you :kisses3:Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorn is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that she is pink; we logically know that she is invisible because we can't see her."0 -
OK first of all thanks for everyone who has supported me....
Secondly - I understand the concerns etc about not telling the whole truth however, it is my decision and if I didnt think I could deal with it by myself then I would've 'fessed up' to everything. 2 years is the time we have worked out that it will take to pay off the 24k... and yes as long as we're careful we will reach that goal. Once DH has paid of his 2 cards he will be helping me to pay mine... I wont be paying it all alone.DFW (Beginning: 01 Dec 2012) - aiming for a DFD of Dec 2013
