Update from Tink - I done it!!!

Options
OK so DH now knows about my debt (well £24k of it anyway)!

His reaction was the total opposite to what I was expecting.... I'm quite shocked. He was upset that I hadn't told him before, and said I should have been able to talk to him etc etc.

And amazingly he is going to help me out.... went through our bills yesterday and he is cutting down on a lot of the stuff we pay that isn't really necessary... got a bank meeting tomorrow to try and change mortgage to interest only - if its accepted then going on what I earn, and the bills I have to pay it will take me 2 years to clear the 24k... but I might try and get a part time job after Xmas to pay the extra stuff off... so Xmas 2013 is my goal to be debt FREE :j

Well done. Really pleased to hear you've told him and that he sounds supportive, its definitely much easier to tackle debts if you are in it together.
(Although I would say it would have been best to tell him about all the debt).

Good luck with it all tink.

To be honest the other debt is just loans etc through family, the main ones I was worried about was the serious debt, credit cards, loan, and overdraft.
With the extra money I will have each month I can pay the other stuff back without much hassle so its all good :D

I think I can still aim for Xmas 2013....
