    Hi everyone :)

Feeling totally bleurgh! about waiting for the savings to come through - i guess i'm just very anxious to get rid of the big scary credit card balance - after the 17th i start to incur interest - i think ? :( - its interest free until next month BUT as the payment is due mid-month i'm not sure when they will pop the interest on and would like to just be sure and get it paid in full! *eep*

I thought i might as well update what i've paid off this month already too - left myself very short this month in order to clear my first target which was an overdraft - paid that except for the interest

    Total is £2802.02/£17,000
    CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460
    MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100
    MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035

Ah yes, had forgotten about DDFW's mini challenge. Maybe that's what's been at the back of my mind that spurred me on to do mine...

Meant to say i would have cleared the interest but i'm waiting to find out what that is too so extra will have to be found to make sure its definitely cleared in full this month.

    Hi sarahs :D

I'm going to update my mini challenge later - i should have sorted some more stuff to list on the bay of e but i'm totally distracted trying to sort out the savings and then split it appropriately between: - big credit card, overpayment on target 3, paying off a large house bill of almost £550, putting some aside for car insurance and trying to keep some back for a house job. So trying to get all that straight in my mind and on paper and then i can concentrate on all the extra stuff too.

Sold / will sell £60 worth of stuff on eb*y so thats all good and really should encourage me to try and find extra stuff to list.

Big aim for me at the moment is clearing off the interest on target 1 that i've paid the balance on already so that'll be this month, paying off target 2 end of this month and aiming to clear target 3 by end of april :eek::eek: *if* it all goes as hoped / expected with the savings target 4 will be cleared this month as well - this will leave me with 3 bills: target 5 - credit card £1650, target 6 overdraft £1500 (incurs interest) target 7 personal £1160. So huge push to get these paid off in full by my birthday this year :eek::eek:

Well it will be the best present i can think of :D

Just had bank statement through and realised my beginning debt was £1230 higher than originally quoted. I've updated my sig to reflect the new figure. On the plus side tho we've managed to reduce the overdraft by £660 this month. It's helped that theres no water rates or council tax payments this month. And we've also taken out only £30 cash instead of £600. that just gets spent on takeaways, mcdonalds, books, toys and clothes. ...frightning. we've decided to have our summer holiday at my mums house while shes away for her hol so that will save at least £900 for 2 weeks self catering. Our elec bill should reduce too as i've just found out our naughty mil has been using the tumble dryer every day without telling us :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:. so i'm feeling very positive. DH is onboard now too which helps a lot.

    keep it up everyone:)

Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker Debt-free and Proud!
Just paid off £55.61 off the Amex so that's £1049.39/£5684.54 now. Didn't spend too much in Iceland and finally saw the Northern Lights properly:j so all in all a very good trip. Phew Madrid in a couple of days, not enjoying the thought of re-packing again...least its a budget flight so can't take much anyway:money:
Still awaiting an unepected PPI Gap insurance cheque which will hopefully arrive soon then I can pay BF money I had to borrow quick when our joint account overdraft came to an end quicker than we were expecting:mad: Still that's two overdrafts cleared in a month so not bad at all. Next month will hopefully mean a bit more of a reduction esp as we're away most of it and hoping to have enough Quidco and cashback to pay most holiday costs:)
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales

another 1.04 (whoohoo!) overpayed on the CC. I read on another thread that someone checks their bank account on the same day every week and rounds it down by putting the difference into their savings account.

I tried to do that, but for some reason HSBC won't let me transfer money between my accounts...does anyone know the reason for this? I'm in credit so I'm confused...and annoyed!

it wouldn't let me pay the last £49.37 off on my pro-study loan, and it wouldn't let me put 1.04 into savings! how strange! That 1.04 was really bugging me though so I tried to make a payment to the CC instead and it let me! I may try and carry on doing that while money is tight. it's like putting the change in my wallet in my change jar.

OK I'll stop waffling now! i'm at:

    £2.65/£1000

(I can't believe I only have 49.37 left on my prostudy loan! that means an extra £50 next month for bridemaid/wedding/holiday expenses!)
    LBM: January 2012
Debt Free as of 20th September 2012

    Savings: ISA:£14.74/IF:£3500ish)
