    Hello!
I've never done this before (committed myself to paying off a certain amount in a set period), but you have to start somewhere I guess.

After my profligate ex-husband left I find myself with a total of £22,000 in loans and credit cards.
Thanks to this website I have managed to consolidate them into a loan of £12,000 at 6.3% over 5 years, a CC of £1,000 at 6.8% for life of loan, a CC of £4900 at 0% for 9 mths and a CC of £4500 at 0% for 14 mths.

I've looked at the snowball calculator and I now recognise that my priority is to clear the debt on the £4900 by the end of this year, as the APR will rocket at that point, although I hope I may be able to "stooze" (see I'm learming the lingo fast!) and get a new one at that time?

So I am going to join this challenge (is it OK to join so far in to the year?) and set myself a target of £4900 by December.

To that end, I am making a start today by listing 3 items on Ebay and will take it from there.

Now, I'm going off to try to add this target/achievement thingy to my signature...
(please be patient with me if I make a mess of it!)

    OK, I've updated my signature.

Please confirm that I am allowed to join this challenge, or point me off into the right direction if I'm in the wrong place!

    Thank you!

Hi everyone - must remember to drop into this thread more often - you people are so inspiring.

Not a great performance this month - it's been a heavy month but I've reduced by total debt by 444.38 giving a total for 2012 so far of 1893.61 out of a target of 6000.

At least I'm still on target and I'm aiming for a better result in March. :j
