  • Hi all the newbies and hi to everyone else.

I've got 2 lots of £15 to report towards the catalogue. My last statement did make me :rotfl:when I received it.

"We want to let you know that your payment free period with buy now pay later is due to end on the 30/03/2012. Don't worry, you can choose from one of the following payment options; 1. You don't need to pay the full amount now. To continue to spread the cost of your items simply do nothing and the cost of the item(s) £37.75 and the interest, estimated at £100.11, will be added to your account balance so you can pay anything from the minimum payment upwards each month.
    2. Pay the full cash price of £37.75 by 30/03/2012."

Hmmm, let me think, Shall I take option 1 or option 2?

    New total: £615.33/£2000
    Clean credit file:12 mths
    Car loan: FREE! :j
    THE PLAN: 1.Pay off debt £8808.42(£3254.45, £1570.32, £2698.33, £0:dance:, £1000, £285.32) 2.Save monthly for Christmas/insurance etc £150 per month 3.Save for emergencies /£1500 4.Save for our B&B £????depends which one takes our fancy :D

But £4 is £4, and it all adds up! So my new total is £284/1900

Husband won't be comfy with me posting the amount but we will be completely debt within 3 years (excluding the mortgage and student loans). We've been working on it for 3 weeks now so hopefully it'll continue to be as straight forward.

The post on here recently really hit home about how easily things can go wrong and we can't do our future plans if we don't sort ourselves out now.

    Good luck all!

Welcome Mrs Smith - do you have a target you want to set for the year? Good luck with the debtbusting :)
Don't know whether this is the right section to post but following on from my earlier post, I have just downgraded my partners phone tariff (its in my name) and now saving a whopping £25 a month (from £35 to £10) - Happy days!

    Well done! :j

Have just got myself started on the site, and would love to join in with this please.

Am feeling a bit overwhelmed with debts at the moment, but I'm not going to be beaten by it. Hopefully joining everyone on here is going to spur me on.

So this year, I am looking to pay off
    £4000

I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to manage it, but am going to give it my best shot.

Welcome to the challenge Lilwobbot, it can be overwhelming sometimes, but every pound counts! Good luck with the debtbusting :)

Hi, can i join this challenge please? i've just started the grocery challenge too as this is where we can cut the most money.

we started the year with £17,480 debt and have cleared two credit cards this month And now left with £16,503. crumbs, never actually seen it as a total before :(. ummmm, i think I'll go and weep now.

Welcome to the challenge mh - that first adding up is always the hardest part. It's all downwards from there! Good luck with the debtbusting :)

Well, option 1 obviously :D It makes perfect sense to pay three times as much interest as the item cost you!
