PPI Party Pooper Debt-free and Proud!
Make sure you rest Jacci - perhaps back has gone because you are having to compensate for loss of some movement of your arm. I see a few posts up though you are managing to shower etc - just take it easy :D

I am a bit fed up today - good news is I got some money back off my PPI claim - so I thought I would keep some back and paid £700 off my loan - which would have brought it just under £20k (whoo hooo) BUT then they charged £12.48  so I phoned and asked why because I was told I can make overpayments. I dont even think the girl could really answer and said no you can make over payments but that was a big payment so perhaps the charge? So I though ok, then but now I want to bring it back under the 20K mark so paid £22.48 - guess what - they have now charged me £17.20 !! Which has taken me back over the 20k.

I am not sure if I am more mad that I cant crack the 20k mark or mad that they are charging me so much and in fact that last overpayment only ended up being £5.28 .

So I will be back on the phone to them today to try and get to the bottom of it but it has really demotivated me.

Anyway my current total is :
    #2 £1,882.80 / £7,500

OK, on this cold and horrid day it's time for one of my favourite debt-free games. Thinking about the money that you're paying off each month, what will you do with it once you're debt free? Will you save, or will you treat yourself and your family?

I think I will continue overpaying the mortgage, but make sure I have enough left as disposable to take a proper holiday each year, and to show my boy the world, even if it's on a shoestring. And I might finally get the back of our house rendered too!

I will be moving on to overpaying the mortgage, but saving as well, and looking to travel more.

    Can't wait!

Are you OK for a late entry to this post? As I am already trying to do this in 2012 and hope this will keep me motivated.

If so please can you put me down for £4510.

As I am paid monthly that is total of £375.83 a month to to meat my target. I will update the end of every month

January paid back £390.33 so am £14.50 ahead at the moment

Welcome to the challenge just_a_biker, good to have you on board! Good luck with the debtbusting :)

Thanks for the updates everyone. :)

Lam - that's ridiculous about the charges, give them a call again, but if you don't have any luck complain in writing - hope you get them back.

Jacci - hope you feel a bit better today with being up and about, take care though and don't try and do too much!

Im resting away jwil....decided I may do a bit of tidying today so I can possibly do small bits of cleaning tomorrow....we shall see...

I have sat down and worked out a more realistic snowball amount as Ive lost £200 a month from my wages as overtime has stopped at work. This means that not accounting for PADing which as you know Im addicted to DFD is now April 2014....its a bit gutting but the overtime helped me pay off more last year so its as broad as its long I suppose. Cannot wait for that magic day to come!!

    Happy Monday all...
