8GB is tiny. There also isn't a 8GB iPhone 4S, so what sort of iPhone were you thinking of getting? From the Apple site all models of iPhone 4S show as dispatched in 1-2 weeks which is soon enough for christmas.
  • it was the iphone 4 not the 4s i was looking at, not sure if i can stretch to the 4s and all the iphone 4 16gb seem to be out of stock

8gb is okay, but you will spend your time wishing you had bought the 16gb. The price differential is small enough to make it worthwhile getting the extra capacity.

Agree 8 GB is on the small side with videos MP3 Maps Books etc ,

Add on SD cards are the best bet but i think Apple dont have an add on slot in IPhone .

I dont think Apple are making the 16gb or 32gb iphone 4 anymore, they only do the 8gb now. Depending on what she wants the phone for ie large music or photo libraries 8gb is fine for normal phone and browsing use, but 16gb is better.
  • Hello,

Music and apps are the things that will take up most storage. So it depends how much she'll want one there.

Don't forget the operating software takes up a bit of data amongst other things so you'd actually end up with about 7GB of storage on an 8GB iPhone.

I actually think 8GB is big enough as I don't actually listen to half on the songs on my phone. If I only kept the songs I listened to on there i'd have plently of space.

    Hope this helps :)
  • Get an Android phone and buy a 32gb micro-SD card! Solved.
