Oh what a week! Hope you've all had a wonderul christmas!

Had a lovely few days away in Bath, gorgeous hotel in the sticks and fab shopping. Shame I had the LO with me as she was a monkey in the restaurant but apart from that...bliss! Even spotted Nicholas Cage whist shopping in Bath centre! :D

I have made some money, £20 cash from Daddyo, £10 gift voucher, £3 shopping savings. Thats all I'll add as I cant rememeber the rest! I had a lovely xmas day (once the ex left) He stayed the night on xmas eve in the spare room as I was feeling generous, it allowed him to watch his daughter open her presents as she was too young last year. He woke in a foul mood and was made worse by me accidently putting his son's toy in my sons stocking. He blew his lid, shouting, swearing so I kicked him out and told him not to come back. After that I had a wonderful day with my family joining us for dinner. Lots of fun. Had the day to myself yesterday and was at a loss for what to do! My daughter came home bright as a button but after being in bed for only 15 mins, screamed as she had been sick...everywhere! So I havent had much sleep and the washing maching has been working overdrive but we're still in good spirits.

Feeling rather positive for the year ahead, whatever happens with finances, fostering, ex's and my family, I will survive and be happy. Hope your all in the same frame of mind, we can get through it together!

Merry Christmas and Happy 2012 everyone! :D

 hi nat glad you had a nice time.

  • My second $10 paypal from superpoints arrived :D. Has been worked out as £6.22 this time so I'm adding that to my total. Took a little longer this time (but with Christmas in the middle I think I can forgive it being just over a week to fulfillment).

I got a handbag for Christmas too, so think I will add the £5 I would otherwise have spent at a charity shop replacing the previous one, which was one final straw away from the strap snapping.:)

Thanks for this thread - was just reading through the forums and saw the detail about Amazon trade in. I didn't even know it existed! Anyway a few hours later I'll hopefully be about £100 better off than I was at lunchtime.

    Good luck with your challenge!

  • Hi hope everyone had a great Christmas :xmassign::xmassign::xmassign:

Adding £100 Xmas present money. Also, been out for my Mums birthday today with our large family. Mum slipped me £40 so we could be seen to chip in for meal, but as it was happy hour, ours was only £25 for the 4 of us. I offered her the £15 change back but she told me to keep it so I'm adding that too

Nat, pleased you sound more positive Xx

    Morning

Hope everybody had a lovely Christmas.

Just a couple of things, 13p roadkill and £1.75 from A*da price thing making a total of £26.81!

I've had some Christmas money but haven't included as I'm spending it! There may be a small eb*y sale if the buyer pays in time for it to be posted this year but that's probably it.
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

    What a lovely post Lemmings.

I must admit I really enjoyed pulling out vouchers and coupons this year to pay for items rather than cold hard cash.

One of my goals is to be able to do the same again next year. Now I know I can do it, I just need to ensure I am doing all my surveys and cashing out in vouchers for Christmas and birthdays, etc.

and unexpected events in the family like births, engagements, weddings, etc.
