HITACHI Travelstar Internal 2.5" SATA Hard Drive

Options
Hi

I am looking to upgrade the hard drive on my Acer Travel Mate 2490, at the moment it is 60GB with about 10GB free.

I am fine with removing the old drive and replacing it, I will also have to buy a dock to copy the old drive.

I am looking to at least double the present size, may go even larger but depending on the price.

Anybody any suggestions of where to look for a good price.

Thanks

Martin
Been there, done that, now I want to do it cheaper!!

About July next year., unless you can find someone who is not doubling the price of their existing stock because of the problems in Asia and taking advantage.

  • Hi

I cannot see a D partition, but when I checked the drive tonight it said 60gb but on the computer it is showing 9.36gb free of 42.9gb.

Not sure if it makes any difference but I duel boot with Windows 7 and Unbuntu.

Then if you have Ubuntu issue a "sudo fdisk -l " or use gparted if you have it ?

  • Considering the current price increases of conventional hard drives have you considered upgrading to a SSD? Ebuyer currently have a 120GB SSD for around £125
