I am happy that Sky are making a dedicated channel for it, and seeing as I subscribe to Virgin Media and have the Sky Sports HD package, i am quietly confident that I will get this channel also. just hope someone puts up a fight againt Vettel next season so it isnt as one sided! No One I Think Is In My Tree.:cool:0

I am over the moon sky have the F1, :j yes sky are expensive yes its a pain if you want F1 and dont want to pay any more than your TV licence. But I have watched F1 since the 1990s and it has slowly lost its appeal to younger gens
It does not matter if you love or hate sky every sport they get turns to gold.
I play golf and just after the ryder cup my club seen a 66% increase on young kids joining for golf lessons and the driving rage more than any other time since its been open.
I think sky will be great for the sport :beer:0 -
daniel.thomas - don't know why you think a change of broadcaster will encourage more younger viewers - can they afford Sky? Why has F1 lost it's appeal to younger gens? Because of the coverage, or the sport? Is BBC coverage poor? Since 2009 when BBC took over the coverage, viewing figures have risen consistently.0

F1 Is free to view in a few places around Europe i will watch it on German TV there RTL Channel on satellite astra1 19.2e
show all the races
its on channel TF1 Too if i remember on satellite 9.0e DVB-S2 viewable with a free to air hd box
the astra1 19.2e satellite can be picked up with a sky mini dish get one from a car boot / neighbor that dont use theres etc
that will need re-aligning at 19.2e you then just need a free to air receiver in recent times B&Q Have done the complete Ross sd satellite kit dish/box/leads etc for £25 Lidl also do satellite kits
these channels are in there native language ie German
plus you get lots more channels with these kits on astra1 theres loads of German channels Eurosport . Sport1 ZDF.RTL.SAT1.ARD Etc
i set mine up in a hour it helps if your into DIY though0 -
That depends whether VM are successful in obtaining the channel from Sky and then whether VM charge extra for the channel. Note that the Sky adverts state "free to our Sky Sports 1 & 2 subscribers" (the operative word being our) and that in the terms and conditions it states that it is necessary to subscribe to Sky TV package. I believe VM are already in negotiations with Sky but you will have to wait and see what the result of that is.davehughes182 wrote: »I am happy that Sky are making a dedicated channel for it, and seeing as I subscribe to Virgin Media and have the Sky Sports HD package, i am quietly confident that I will get this channel also. just hope someone puts up a fight againt Vettel next season so it isnt as one sided!0
