Low activity birthday ideas?

I'm really not sure if this is the right place to put this but it's technically disability related as it's my disability that stops me from doing alot.
Long story short, I have quite severe M.E and I'm having a major relapse at the moment.
It's my 25th birthday on Friday and I really need some ideas of what to do with my husband that is low activity. I don't want to not do anything as for the first time in years I'm looking forward to my birthday (not sure why and I'm not looking forward to hitting 25!
).
There is this thing called Festive Night that is being held in the village but it'll be really busy (I have anxiety) and it's really narrow so not really wheelchair friendly. I'd love to go but it's just not feasible.
I'm gluten-intolerant so alot of takeaways are out of the question (unless I brave the consequences over the next couple of days.:o) and we need to save money as we're moving the week after.:o
Thank you in advance and thank you for reading.

Firstly Happy Birthday for Friday.:bdaycake:(gluten free!)
I know exactly what you mean about wantig to do something but sufering the consequences!
Is the cinema a possibility, if not why not get a DVD and put the lights down and get some popcorn?
How's it going with the house move, it's next week isn't it.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Thank you.
The cinema is a possibility but I'm struggling with noise sensitivity at the moment.
I like the idea of DVDs though.
The house move...is at a standstill at the moment! The handover date is supposed to be on 9th December but that's likely to change as the flats are still being built! We haven't even managed to have a look around yet.:o

Hope you get everything sorted out with the house.
My birthday next March is also a big one ?0.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

Movie marathon! Choose your favourite trilogy and have a weekend of it!
If your hubby can get you some ear plugs you could go bowling? It's still a lot of fun even when using the kiddies rolly-down thingy :rotfl:
Could you go to a wheelchair accessible stately home? They're pretty pricey but it would be a pleasant low activity few hours. Damn you for not having your birthday in the summer, otherwise I would suggest some lovely gardens in the sunshine. Perhaps you could be like the queen and have two birthdays0 -
I have severe ME/CFS amongst other issues and the first idea that came to mind when I read your post was some complementary therapy like massage or reiki. I find reiki really helps me
Then I re-read your post and see you want something to do with you husband. Guess your husband could give you a foot massage whilst you are watching that DVD.
Is your husband any good at cooking? Perhaps he could treat you to a candle light dinner at home before the DVD?
Whatever you do, enjoy your birthday.0 -
Sorry to hear that you are having a relapse, I can't advise on M.E. - my thoughts would be you could see what the weather is like on your birthday and go to a wheelchair friendly local wood / park or lake - wrapping up warm etc (perhaps even take a flask of a hot drink) we have quite a few parks locally which have some nice paths through, I know that when I was using a wheelchair (after an operation) the change of scenery cheered me up - and you can go as far as you want to before heading back home for a gluten free hot chocolate...
Whatever you end up doing I hope that you are well enough to enjoy at least part if not all of your birthday! and Good Luck with the house move!

Picnic? As Tracey said you could go somewhere pretty and have a change of scenery. If the weather's terrible you could stay at home and have a picnic there.
Or how about seeing if anywhere in your area caters for gluten free afternoon tea? It's quite sedate but can feel very special.
Stay at home and be pampered by your husband? A long soak in a bubble bath with candles and soft music, followed by getting dressed up and having a special home cooked dinner with candles and champagne followed by snuggling on the sofa watching a DVD.
What happens at Festive Night? Would it be possible for your husband to arrange a mini version at home?0 -
Thank you for all of the replies. Things like bowling (as much as I would love to!) are out of the question because just using my arms is exhausting (which is why I can't shower myself.:o).
I'm still not sure what we're doing. It doesn't help that I now have to wait in for a phonecall in the afternoon r.e. when we can go and look at our new flat.
I think we were going to do pizza (even though I'm not supposed to eat gluten but it is my birthday.). We were going to do DVDs too but we did that the other day and not alot else has come out since then.
I know that MIL is making gluten-free cupcakes so we can all have one when I open my presents, which will be nice.
Unfortunately, there's not alot I can do at the moment.2019 Wins

For my last birthday I was given a 'picnic voucher'...I wasn't up to a trip on my birthday......so I had a promise of a trip later, when I was stronger. We had a drive to a lovely, pretty spot above the sea (the actual beach was too crowded for me) and had our picnic, and I took some photos of the cliffs and sea to paint later. (I copy photos as a hobby - something I can stop/start)....maybe you could have a voucher for bowling or something else you'd like?0

I have had 10 birthdays in bed due to severe ME. I have a special breakfast, something i wouldnt normally have (rice pudding normally made by my mum), would put decorations up but as its just before christmas i don't. I start opening cards the night before. Years that i have been well enough i go downstairs and lay on the sofa to open my family presents (gift bags/tissue paper save energy), special dinner, special drink (sluurr), if well enough a film, plus birthday cake and candles. for my 18th my room was decorated with new york themed things (I had v.severe ME but going to new york for my 18th had been my dream) and my neighbour decorated my window outside which my parents took a picture so i could see. Last year i managed a bath the week before my birthday (to give me time to recover in time for my real birthday). anything you can manage be it having some fairy lights on, eating a bit of cake, enjoying having someone in your room, enjoying looking a balloon, having phonecalls from special people etcBest wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card
