Blue screen of doom

My laptop has twice this evening come up with a blue screen. Before I had time to read the text, it restarted itself, and then told me it had recovered from a serious error, and an error log had been created. I don't know much about computers but would be v. sad if my laptop died! Can anyone help me (please!)?

I'll be heading home and turning my laptop on again soon. Does anyone have any suggestions of anything I could do to address the problem I was having last night, or should I just hope it doesn't happen again (this could be wishful thinking after it happened three times last night!)? Could running chkdsk have fixed the problem?
