Boiler losing water pressure

And dont that make ya wonder exactly what engineers who design combi boilers actually know about the associated legislations
No the engineers design to specifications and legislation which change or can be interpreted differently.
Yes, a filling loop should be disconnected when pressurisation is complete.
Yet take the valves made by the Arrow group, these can be fitted in place of a filling loop, are a permanent fitting, yet comply with the water regulations.
No faffing about with finding the loop where one has been totally disconnected, no lost / distorted washers, simplicity itself to use.
So in fact the engineers at Arrow have studied the water legislation in great depth, designed a valve that replaces a filling loop, is not prone to contamination of the loop, or the loop being used for other purposes.
They comply with all water authorities regulations.0 -
Another (I'm assured, very rare!!) fault which can cause a loss of pressure in a combi system is a pinhole leak in the final heat recovery exchanger - I have personal knowledge as the result of a new installation- the water was being lost direct to drain so no "evidence" of the leak - it caused me a lot of grief and numerous visits from the boiler manufacturer's engineer and the installing plumber before they found it!0
