Fenton, Jesus Christ!

Diggs, my border, normally 100% recall, had a feral cat leap on him a few months back. After total shock - the cat seemed to come from nowhere - of course a chase ensued and no amount of screaming his name could stop him. He ended up worse off, the cat disappeared into the hedge I grabbed him and he had a flap of skin hanging down from his chin where the cat had ripped it. He didnt learn, when we got back from the vets, first thing he did was rush out to the hedge to see if the cat was there.
I always keep them on lead near farm animals because it only takes a second for them to whip off into a field of sheep or cows or horses.
They keep saying Fenton is a black lab, but he looks like a collie to me?0 -
Ok, IF a deer had been injured, or IF the dog had been shot then it would obviously not be funny. None of these things did happen though, and I don't feel guilty for finding it funny. And yes, I have been a dog owner. I would imagine it's one of those situations which is scary at the time but you can look back laugh.Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0

i know you are not supposed to laugh at a dog running off but this absolutely cracks me up every time I watch it, its the blokes voice that makes it so funny, I've been there myself and know the exasperation when your dog finds something more interesting than you.

I've seen a subsequant interview with another dog walker who uses the area and they said they've not seen Fenton/Benton and his owner since.
This chap took his dog for extra training himself before going back there after a similar thing happened to him and the person above who has their dog trained to come back when they blow a whistle is a good dog owner.
I do find this clip funny but am also feeling awful for both the dog and its owner when I'm watching it.
As to the deer, if it had been the time of year when they been heavily pregnant I would have been thinking the dog owner completely irresponsible of course.0 -
I watch things like that and I really wish I'd had a camera on me the day a flock of sheep chased my dog across a field...
My other thought was when they cull those deer and how...given it's a public park...hotly followed by 'where can I volunteer and could I keep the carcass?'“Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. You'll mess it up, it's potential, leave it. Anyway, it's like your bank balance - you always have a lot less than you think.”

I don't really see why the mother of the kid who filmed the incident should be making money out of it?
I can see why people find it funny, although it isn't something I find too funny. I do feel somewhat sorry for the man - he had the shock of his life, probably thought it was over, maybe even shared a laugh about it himself and then finds it printed across all the tabloids in the UK because his near-disaster was caught by a child who uploaded it to Youtube. It seems our indiscretions are now the business of everybody with a mobile phone.
But, the man should have had his dog under control and perhaps it may serve as a warning to others.
The Hitler-parody... oh, I've seen too many of them now.0 -
Some really need to take a chill pill..
Why does everything have to be analysed before people are allowed to laugh these days?
The point is it had already happened and no matter how much 'ohh , irresponsible dog owner .. disgusting!, lessons should be learned ' comments , the poor bloke did not knowingly let his dog loose on a herd of Deer.
Unlike the ****** s who deliberately inflict pain on animals because they find it entertaining
Shame on him for not completeing a Risk Assessment before taking his dog for a walk
The spoofs are brilliant0 -
