Personal lease - Automatic 5 door car
Absolutely

Hi
I'm planning on changing my car next year.
I'm interested in a car:
- that can be leased over 36 months on a personal lease option (I understand a deposit of 1-2k or more will be needed)
- I do less than 5000 miles a year
- Need a 5 door car. Not an estate
- Needs to be automatic
I have tried various websites, but there are so many options out there!
I'm just planning my budget for next year so I'm not in the market to buy just yet. However, I'd like a ballpark figure of what it would cost me on a monthly basis.
If anyone has any suggestions as to which car(s) may be suitable, I'd be very grateful.
Thank you!

Does it need to be congestion charge exempt or any other caveats?
Will you pay tax as a benefit in kind?0 -
Thanks for the reply but no, there would be no tax/BIK or congestion charge.
The reason for looking into personal lease was I've had 3 year (or older) cars in the past and they have been money pits. Always something major going wrong. I'll never buy a Renault again, put it that way!
I like to know how much money I have to pay each month and I'm not hung up on the idea on ever owning a car as such. That's why I was looking into the personal leasing option (or 'Just Add Petrol'), but I'm finding it hard to find an automatic car0 -
Put your £2k on a 5 year old mondeo or newer and you will have £200+ a month for repairs.
Had mine for 2 years and have spent £500 on it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Lings cars has hundreds to chose from. 3 months rental then £200 to over £800 a month, depending what you want.

Thanks Davey. I'm in M/cr but I'll have a look at the link anyway to see if I can get any inspiration because at the moment I'm totally lost!
Forgotmyname: I know personal (not business) leasing is an expensive option but I've had so many second hand cars and so many problems and expenses, I just want a car that I pay a fixed rate for that I can swop at the end of 3 years for another new car.
My Mum got a Toyota Aygo recently on such a deal. It's too small a car for me. I'm wanting something a bit bigger but with the fixed monthly price option.0 -
If you like mums Aygo but want something a bit bigger look at the Auris. Alternatively what about buying a two year old Kia, it will still have a five year warranty and will work out much cheaper than leasing?0

Thanks. Just looked at the Auris (nice!) but it only states Manual. I really like a Auto car.
I'll look at the Kia.0 -
The Auris (or should we say Corolla) is pretty unexceptional in every area. The Cee'd is a better and cheaper car to lease.0

OP a lease is generally going to be quite expensive (the days of cheap leases around 2005 are long gone). If I were you I would be looing to buy a new car that comes with a long warranty such as Kia and keep the car for a shade shorter than the warranty.
Your problem will be defining what is an automatic (I'm not up on these things) in a small car so spend some time researching which car suits you from that point of view there are various systems that might suit.0 -
The Auris is automatic in that there is no clutch pedal and you do nothing to change gear unless you want to. It is more economical than a normal automatic we get over 50mpg from our diesel one for normal mixed driving sometimes towing a trailer. Never got anywhere near that with conventional torque converter automatics, have a test drive and see what you think.0
