Broadband for First Home

Hi guys

I'm about to purchase my first home and am looking to keep my bills as low as possible - one area that's causing me some headache is broadband.

According to the Eclipse Home Broadband usage calculator I should need around 40GB download limit. Don't really need any calls as I hardly make any and I can use my mobile when I do.

I've been contemplating the Primus Line Rental Saver (£6.49 per month) coupled with O2 All Rounder (£12.50 per month for O2 customers), however, I'd like to change my mobile phone sim from O2 to GiffGaff so I'd prefer to stay away from O2 if I can.

I'd also like to know if most/all broadband providers allow you to have line rental from a separate provider.

I've input my prospective post code into SamKnows and got the following results:

If you can have Sky then get it, I have unlimited which is £7.50 per month.

Would I have to take out Sky's line rental at £12.25 p/m or can I choose an alternative?

Your best bet is to go to one of those sites that review the main broadband providers that are out there. You will be able to see what each provider offers and how much each costs. There are tons out there, but i like http://www.broadbandni.com/

O2 or Sky are the obvious choices there.
