I'm down to 65.9 kg today. That makes 1 stone that I've lost since I started the Dukan Diet at the end of July. Now into size 14. who'd have thought it eh? I'm almost not obese - BMI is 30.4.

    1st December was 66.6 kg, now 65.9, lost 0.7 kg, that's 1 1/2 pounds lost in December.

Sorry I didn't get to you yesterday (I was away for the weekend doing the family pressie run!), welcome to the group - and can you say how tall you are? You may not be losing much now as you are close to your ideal weight.

    im a shorty :D - at 4'9'' and around 2 stone overweight:(

Probably like me. However, I lost 2 inches in height because of advancing age, the pads between my vertebrae have become compressed so I no longer have any space between the bottom of my rib-cage and the top of my hip-bones. I used to be 4' 11" but was measured when I went to a Diabetes Open Day a few weeks ago and I wanted to do the 'risk assessment' for developing diabetes. Now 4' 9". Because of my age and obesity I am at risk of developing diabetes, and seeing what DH does day in day out - since he was diagnosed 30 years ago! - quite honestly it's something I can do without. So it's serious, it's not just a matter of looking good in a little black dress, or getting into a bikini. It's a bit more serious than that.

I am aiming at losing another stone, and then we'll see. I'm on the 'consolidation' stage of the Dukan Diet at present, but I'm still losing weight. Not too fast, but it's happening and I am happy with that. I'm now into size 14 clothes and have had to buy a new winter coat because my other 2 - which are very good quality - are size 18. I still have some 'podge' around my tummy which has gotta go.

You can do a lot more exercise than I can. Isn't there a personal trainer at your gym who could advise you? Sometimes it's simple things that you might not think of. DH went for an appointment yesterday to talk about his diabetes control and his food - one thing that came out was: too much red meat (he'd just eaten 2 beefburgers with veg whereas one would have been enough) and portion size: he shouldn't fill the bowl up with bitesize Shredded Wheat but will measure the 40g it says on the box. If you have pasta have just the amount that will fit into the palm of your hand, not a whole pile of it. And also, a lot more green veg. We don't eat potatoes, not at all - well, DH might have one if we're out, but I don't eat them. It was easier for me to get my head around this since we went to a couple of Anglo-Saxon themed dinners with foods that were available a thousand years ago and, of course, potatoes hadn't yet been introduced. Wholemeal bread was much more important.

    Hi everyone

Dragon sorry for being MIA but have been really struggling to control my eating so couldnt bring myself to post that I was STS or even put on - but have given myself a kick and weighed this morning at 11st 13lbs (-1 I think!)- I also had a visit from my dietician and she is not going to be able to visit anymore although I can phone or email her as much as like.
I have mastered my bread intake so now I realise I need a new challenge to help with the weight loss so its going to be no sweet stuff (she did say I could wait until after Christmas) which is really the way it should be since I am diabetic anyway!
I have no will power and still eat 3/4 biscuits with each cup of coffee because they are there - not because I need them!
So no more buying biscuits or cake and once the tin of sweets is finished by the carers then no more will be bought.
I am aiming to have 5 out of 7 sugar free days which will allow me something if I am out or have a visitor.

I also need to get on my bike!!! I am not going to force myself but I will try every morning - because I only do a few minutes because of my muscle disease I am not sure how effective it really is but will try and see how it goes.

I love my food but need to get my greedy eating urges under control!!!!

I hope everyone else is doing well

    toots xx
    Peace will be mine
