Adams shops - closing down ???

When I was in Cardiff on Sunday, the Adams store in St Davids centre was closing down and EVERYTHING was reduced to just £1.00 an item. I had 4 kids in 6 years so I stocked up on trainers, socks, vests, school uniform, summer dresses etc and I saved myself a fortune

Whilst driving past Barry Adams I noticed alot of stuff was reduced and just wondered if every Adams store is closing down or is it certain outlets ?

I can confirm Adams in Swansea is officially shut! Cant confirm Bridgend branch as have not been there for a while!

Someone said this before christmas, I think it was a ploy to get everyone in to spend money. But having said that my sister lives in surrey and she said all her local adams were having closing down sales, so maybe they really are this time. Im off to my local town this afternoon so will have a look and report back later. BTW not saying youre a liar welshy just rembering the time before xmas.

Ooh thanks for the heads up Welshy. I've noticed that our local Adams has loads of stuff on sale but no closing down signs. I never normally go in there because it's so expensive.

The store in Cardiff St Davids centre was DEFINITELY closing down as the staff were discussing redundancy terms and pay. I wondered if it was just specific to that branch because of the redevelopment of Cardiff centre.

However, looking at the Barry branch that one also appears to be going the same way.

When I saw the signs in the Cardiff branch window stating everything for £1.00 I went and asked a member of staff to double check the information ! as it sounded too good to be true.

I did get lots of bargains though so well worth looking out for

I was in an Adams shop in Belfast and it was having a closing down sale, I asked the girl at the checkout and she said they were just closing for a refit. It's interesting there's more than one closing down, and all over UK.

I was in Haverfordwest last weekend (didn't look too closely as my DD's are too old) but it definately said something about closing down on the big sign in the window

Went to Great Yarmouth store (norfolk) and it just had a sale, which wasnt very good, not closing down tho. Welshy I Do believe you.

I was in HW yesterday and didn't notice if there were signs up about it closing down Things in there were reduced but not down to £1. Will keep an eye out

The Corby store had a closing down sale, but have shut just for the refit!!! Did spend a fortune in there though, shorts £1, t-shirts 50p, flip flops £1, they will come in very handy for the holidays!!
