In general, This forum doesn't have the required experience to advise, those on the pepipoo.com forum do including solicitors who have secured successful reductions on convictions.0

Whatever happens to you, learn from it!
If you can't afford a legal rep I'd plead guilty (if the evidence is stacked up against you) and make it known that your job depends on your licence. You might get lucky with 5 points. As someone above said drive like a saint for the rest of your probabtion and use the car as little as possible especially in areas you don't know. It's so easy to get caught in unknown areas.. one missing sign and a camera half a mile down the road and you're busted. Your insurance will go up a lot though..0 -
That's a bit rubbish.
If you got a ticket then it should only be 3 points and £60 fine, in which case you should pay up and drive like a saint for the remainder of your probation.
You're obviously not familiar with the rules for newbie drivers.
Vax2002 has given the correct (and best) so far. The OP would do well to follow his advice.0 -
Did this alleged offence take place in Scotland?
I agree with the others. Over here and get the case set out in detail;-

Who stopped you local police or traffic? If locals how di they know you were doing 90mph?
If it was local police I would look very very closely at it (mind you I susspect if they are not sure of yor speed they might throw in a coupe more charges) and then decide best course of action.
If it was traffic police it might be better looking for leniency the traffic guys have proper calibrated speedos etc.
You can not play both.
They might have no evdence and you hear no more about it and they just wanted to give you a fright.
Get over to Pepipoo once your summons comes in.0 -
According to the Pepipoo magistrates sentencing guidelines calculator you're getting between 4 and 6 points.
http://www.pepipoo.com/Magistrates_guidelines.htm
A short disqualification is also possible - I may be wrong but if you get disqualified you don't get any points so I don't think you'll have to retake the test then either.
So it's not necessarily licence gone.0 -
Those guidelines apply in England, not Scotland. Penalties for speeding in Scotland are harder to predict, but often seem harsher than those for equivalent offences in England. A driving ban is very possible at that speed, but if it was short enough to cover with holiday and/or unpaid leave it might actually be preferable to 6 points as it would not trigger revocation of your licence and you could start driving again as soon as it had expired without having to retake your test. The effect of a ban on your insurance premium might not be too pretty though.0

ACPO guidelines are that anything 26mph over the speed limit automatically goes to court, which is what will be happening to the OP. It could take up to 6 months for the summons to come through.
Other than that, all I can say is head over to pepipoo and ask there, as others have already said.0 -
He may still have to take a retest (from Highway Code):A driving ban is very possible at that speed, but if it was short enough to cover with holiday and/or unpaid leave it might actually be preferable to 6 points as it would not trigger revocation of your licence and you could start driving again as soon as it had expired without having to retake your test.
"The courts also have discretion to order a retest for any other offence which carries penalty points"
The whole purpose of the 2 year period is to clamp down on bad new drivers (regardless of age) so I think you would need to find a magistrate who had a very good morning to get away without a ban when doing 90mph in a 60mph limit.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
