Been rushing around like the proverbial airborne insect with cyanotic posterior:D this afternoon; Mr LW is on leave from Midday tomorrow - he has to use up his remaining leave for this year - and doesn't go back to work til Wednesday next week (so next week I'll be doing 5 days' Flying in 3 days, but that's another story....):o

I've almost done everything for this week; ideally tomorrow I want to get ahead with this week's CAMRA stuff and get that out of the way, and get the weekly 'puter maintenance tasks done.

It's Mr LW's birthday on Monday; we're out to dins at our usual pub/restaurant. He wants us to get a taxi, but I've suggested he drive there and park so that it's easy to get out, and I'll forego alcohol and drive home. Reasons as follows:
    1. I'm trying to cut down on alcohol.
2 I HATE taxis; they never seem very clean (as in I don't like sitting on those seats with my decent clothes on), and the drivers frankly make me very nervous, even with Mr LW there.
3 It'll save about £30 in taxi fares!
I don't think he's going to go for it, though.

Seeing as you've been threatening to cut down on  AND it's his birthday, do you not think that he might be counting on getting you a little tipsy? :D:D:D

Well, Minion came in to announce that they had decided to hold parents' evening tonight. Pity they never told anyone outside the staffroom.

We tried to get there, but it's tipping down and as no bus had come by the time of the first appointment, we came home again. To find a message on the answerphone from one of the teachers which was essentially saying that as she would have been hanging around a bit between appointments, she CBA to do parents' evening and gave a quick report over the phone instead.

I appreciated the info, but I would not have been best pleased to have got there, soaking wet and covered in mud walking up that humungeous hill to find 25% of the staff I was permitted to see (no more than 4 teachers allowed at any time) hadn't turned up and we would be turning straight round and going home again after 15 minutes.

Anyway, the kitchen still looks lovely, the hob wasn't sparking randomly when I tentatively put the power back on (so I think it was the water causing a short) and Minion has brought me a cuppa in thanks for excusing her from the trek to the school in soggy uniform (which is compulsory, for some strange reason).
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Couple more presents bought. Just a few little things to get and thats it.

Had a bit of a flood last night from the radiator so the lad next door came and fixed it for me. So box of Christmas biscuits decluttered to thank him.

Got my money back from the DIY place for the beading. The man who laid the floor can get beading so is coming back to do that and skirting boards.

    Mumto5 Hugs.
Kaz. Thank you for the lists you have done.

    Oh wow...

no clue what to get my best friend for xmas so I jokingly offered to clean her bathroom. She's thrilled.

I will do her 4 bathroom cleans I think including a pre-christmas one. I save money; she gets a job she hates doing done!

I will make her vouchers with claim dates on I think - then she can have it done when she wants...
is EMMB around? - I want to know what she would charge for four half-hour blocks of cleaning, to see if I'm in the right sort of price area if that makes sense...

I went right off the plan and manage to blitz the whole of downstairs yesterday and today.
Upstairs leaves a lot to be desired but I can't bear the cold and it makes everything hurt more.

Hugs from me too Mumto5, I'm thinking of you..

LW I just read your post about your meds and realised I forgot to get anyone to collect my repeat prescription. It could be another long night...:o

We went out for SIL's birthday last night and I did exactly as you suggest for Mr LW. Though all the men (3 of them ) complained the whole way home. In a jokey way.
