I started off with the tiny bedroom then moved on to the next biggest. Now I have the biggest bedroom!

I know! Only room in the house bigger than my craft room is - the lounge - rotten Mr F won't let me move in there!

It's the biggest bedroom I'll be moving the sewing room into; DH and I have the middle sized bedroom. And like yours, it's the second biggest room in the house. It's still not really big enough for all my fabric stash, and the knitting and cross-stitch materials are all stored in the living room. My excuse is that he's got four sheds!!! ;)

Mine hasn't got 1 shed! Mr F wouldn't know what to do with a shed - definitely not a DIY man!

OH bought me a kindle for my birthday last week, one of the best presents I've ever had:j
Looked at covers for it, really just wanted something to protect it while not being used, and for if I take it anywhere in my bag. This time last year I wouldn't have had a clue where to start, but straight away thought 'oh well, I can make something for that'.
After one slightly too small reject, my kindle now has two outfits:T
One is bright green cotton leaves inside and out, the other is denim outside and pretty blue t-shirt inside:)
I now see it wearing a different outfit according to what book I'm reading:rotfl:

I don't think she made up that quote it's very well known saying amongst quilters. I've even seen it as a X stitch pattern.
Have just bought myself a jelly roll , have no idea when I'll have time to use it but the pleasure it gives me just looking at it and stroking it, better than alcohol and no nasty hangover:D

  • Annybananny - completely understand your need to feel lovely yarns... I feel drawn to my favourite fabric shop quite often ...just to go in and ...touch .... I asked the proprietress recently how business was...and she said business is down somewhat...most people (not me) tending to buy only what they really need ...and a lot of women coming in, and asking if it would be okay for them to just to fondle the fabric (well, I don't actually ask...but I do ...do it..
  • I'm not really a knitter... I only purl.... have this notion of crocheting berets...found tutorial on you-tube...
of course...(also want to sew berets, could probably supply the army of a small country..with stash of material I've got) now back to yarn... in order to stock up on yarn...I've turned into an unraveller...people ask me what I'm knitting ...when they see me with a jumper on my lap and a ball of wool in hand...
    I'm never knitting...only unravelling...but it does give me a kind of satisfaction... and it's very cheap...because I unravell good quality "used/second-hand" hand-knitted jumpers/cardigans ...and it's super cheap...
(it didn't take long to learn it's impossible to unravel machine knitted items)...
  • miffy - what's a jelly roll ? Since you say you're going to use it and not eat it ...I'm guessing it's using in quilting ? Alcohol is highly overated ... so let's get some pleasure out of Jelly Rolls... as soon as you tell us..

It's 40 21/2 inch strips of patchwork fabric in a roll. They are usually a specific pallete or range of fabrics so you can easily make a quilt without spending loads of time looking for different fabrics that go well together.
Just google Jelly Rolls and you will see what I mean. Great for people like me who find it hard to put colours and patterns together.
