Welcome aboard silly rabbit!
Have a look around the internet or try sewing4dummies on the internet for ideas (as i said in an earlier post) or the ones that others on here have mentioned. I am just browsing Alllaboutyou right now.
I cant post the link....sorry.
I think when I first started I had an old hanky (but clean!!) and I practised on that. Looked a right mess when I had finished!!
Good luck!!“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning,

You can't post a link on open forum but you can put it on your profile as your homepage so when any one clicks on your name they have an option to view your homepage. I might actually try to do that as well when I get a quiete five minutes.sillyrabbit wrote: »Hi all! I'm new to sewing, and got given a sewing machine plus a lovely box of accessories for Christmas - can I join you so I can get some inspiration? I've made a couple of bits already after a kind person on freecycle donated various fabric offcuts to me, but I'm not sure what to do next. I want to do small things that are quick to make to start with!
What I realised I have is a massive box of odd socks - any suggestions of something to make out of them (not sock puppets!)?
I've also started a blog just to show the things I'm making - can I post it here, or is it not allowed?BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
I've added the link to my profile so if anyone fancies checking out what I've made so far on my machine (not much!) it's there.
I have decided, after reading the declutter thread, to properly declutter my very messy and very small house; the final aim of this is to have enough space in my bedroom as a sewing corner. The space is there, I just need to get the mess sorted in order to get a table in that I can store my machine on! I've got a lovely sewing box already, and a stash of weird odds and ends of material in an ottoman in my bedroom already, so I just need to get it all organised properly following the declutter so I can easily just sit there and sew when I want to :-):j Currently doing the Swagbucks challenge :j0 -

Has anyone else seen the ad for the new quilting magazine? The quilt looks gorgeous but I bet not many people read the small print that says ... complete in 90 issues, normal price £3.99. I make that £359.10 to make the quilt!! Anyone tempted ... :rotfl:Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0

NO  It would be cheaper to buy a normal quilting book and a pile of fat quarters. For £359 you could make a load of quilts.Has anyone else seen the ad for the new quilting magazine? They bring out magazines like this every year don't they? One year didn't they have a model of some kind which would have cost hundreds of pounds to make.0 -
Don't worry, I was definitely being sarcastic
