so doesn't this technically count as a second purchase?
Possibly, but as already mentioned by another poster above, the distance reg's specifically exclude newspapers so you will have to rely on the goodwill of the company.0 -
The whole point of these offers is half the folk forget to cancel.0
-
Exactly.
If no one forgot to cancel then it probably wouldn't be worth their while giving 4 weeks free to everyone who was interested in getting the subscription.0 -
so cancel the DD with your bank, so they cant take this out again and then call them
your advise is usually pretty good so i'm actually quite surprised you suggested this, without the trailing sentence being
'..but make sure you follow their cancellation procedure vigorously as cancelling a DD does not release you from the terms of the contract and if you fail to do this could find yourself owing them money for the next period'0 -
Do these vouchers allow you to get a copy of the paper for free from shops or something?
If so and even if DSRs did apply, your right to cancel would end pretty swiftly as I imagine once the first paper your elegible to receive is made available to you then you would be deemed to have begun using the service and your rights to cancel seize to exist.0 -
Opps i am slipping i think i need to go lie down in a dark room and recharge my batteries :eek:your advise is usually pretty good so i'm actually quite surprised you suggested this, without the trailing sentence being

Yeah.
I only received them on Saturday afternoon and their phoneline hasn't been open since. The voucher pack is 100% intact so I've clearly not used them to get my paper yet, which I hope will count in my favour.
I had a quick read through the terms and conditions (I tried linking here but the board won't let me, if you search Financial times 4 weeks £1 it's easy to find) and there's nothing to really suggest I won't be able to cancel and get a refund. "I understand that I can cancel at any point during my trial without obligation, or I can continue receiving the newspaper and FT.com after my trial at the special rate of £156 every 13 weeks with pre–paid vouchers".
Here's hoping, I'm in a bit of a pickle if they say no.0 -
I think that you should be okay.

long weekend then?

yup, phone line and internet went down 2 major problems outside so took full day for BT to fix.
then o2 problems when changing broadband in the fact they dont know how to set up accounts correctly ( i have a post in internet access about this).
Then installing the new whmcs and having to set this up with my customised mods and then a client knot knowing how to use woprdpress and blaming it on a server problem until proved it was him not setting wp up correct. so as you say a very LONG weekend0
