    Hi all,

I've merged all three of the threads on this programme together to help avoid confusion and keep the replies in one place.

ooh lovely ,im about [dec 6th] to do my xmas shop with £81 in luncheon vouchers and a bag full of money off coupons [ from beforeishop site]. im going to see how little i can spend !

Do LVs have barcodes on them now? I remember when I worked on checkouts years ago that I would inwardly groan when presented with books of them, as you had to count them all out and add it up in your head to make sure there was the amount stated on the book.

I saw the programme advertised the other night and thought it looked interesting.

It says that it won't be available on 4-OD. Looks like you'll need to record it, same as me 'cos I'll be out on Thursday.

I'll be watching with great interest but find some of these extreme people quite obsessive. I'm all for thrifty living, never had the chance to be otherwise, but my thrift has to fit into a normal life. I don't want to get to the end of my days with a lot of money in the bank but having spent a lifetime doing nothing else but getting it there.
On the other hand I'm all for saving a bit where I can........

LVs do now have barcodes but for some unknown reason instead of scanning them in Tesco like they used to they are now keying in the barcodes instead. I only know this as a did a bit of shopping this morning and the cashier had to check whether they could still take them! Only trouble is I gave her £1 x 2 plus 50p x 2 and she put them all through as 50p each, Ended up being given back a £1 LV to use next time I go. Really annoying.

  • Just went on Channel 4 website and saw Superscrimpers is doing a Christmas show on Wednesday 14 Dec at 8pm, and it says it is Series 2 Episode 1 - should be worth a look also.
