    Hi
My target for 2012 is £10,000 - not sure how I will achieve that but it's amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it!

    Welcome Tina!

This isn't directed at you just because you said the above, but it's for anyone and everyone who has joined new for 2012 and perhaps also is fairly new to the MSE forum as well.

Some people just OP from cash that they might have spare at the end of the month. Others delibrately seek out extra cash either by additional income or decreasing spending in other areas. Some find freeing up cash obvious and fairly easy. Others might need some help/ideas/tips/motivation.

There are a number of 'challenges' and threads on the forum that can help with this. It's amazing some of the ways we can all save a little money here and there - some things are obvious but don't always occurr to us - it all adds up to £'s.

    There's this one:-
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3061466
    (All the small things....)

Then there are a few good ones on the Debt Free Wannabee forum - SolventSoon's NSD thread (No Spending Days) can be 'good fun'.....well they're a nice bunch at least

Then there are also the MFW diaries where people track their progress and divulge how they are achieving MF status.

So if you're new to the forums have a root around and see what you can find

    nice write up curley girl

im 50 single----never saved in my life--just took out loans
my property is worth about 100k--a nice 1 bedroom flat
im looking forward to the day im MF
next target will be full yearly cash isa

this site has totaly changed how ive thought about money an gives you incentives with others on here--not giving up---you get good/bad months but as long as yearly balance is coming down you will be ok.

if i never started this MF journey id still owe 48k with loans on top
financial freedom will change my life

Meant to say when you posted this - how you've turned things around and got to the financial position you are now in is really impressive.

    :santa2: Hello :santa2:

Can I have a number please? Put me down for overpaying 18,000 :eek::eek:. The mortgage on my BTL will be just under 18k at the end of the year. It's possible on paper ;) and I intend to pay it off so let's go for it :eek::eek:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)
