  • I have just telephoned Lloyds and have a refund heading to my bank account for £230. Thanks Martin

  • Hi I claimed back my Exit Mortgage Fee overpayment a couple of months ago. I phoned Halifax, who sent it me by cheque straight away! I got £75 back. I am now in the process of getting my interest back I am having to pay because of the 'over payment'.
They couldn't do anything this morning though because they have had thousands of calls from GMTV viewers. Come on Martin Lewis!:T

WOW! Just seen Martin on GMTV and thought this was worth a try. I redeemed by Woolwich mortgage in May 05, took it out in 2002. I had no idea how much i had paid or what i was meant to pay but phoned the number of Martins website anyway. Had to hold for a while (it was freephone though!) and finally got through, gave my account number and hey presto, was immediately told i was due £100 plus £8.08 interest! It will be paid into my bank within 3 days! THANKS MARTIN!

    Well worth a try...

I just called Abby, we just remortgaged and closed our account with them and took out a new mortgage but they said i paid the £99 as stated in the agreement (our mortage ran from 2003-2007).
  • Watched GMTV this morning from Southern Ireland. We just moved from England to Ireland. I rang Abbey to see if we have been charged the MEAF fee in Feb when we completed. Sure enough we have been charged £225. They are sending me a form to complete to refund my overcharge. No arguments, it was easy. They have been very busy this morning with calls regarding the MEAF. Thank you for that Martin cause sterling is worth a lot more euros to me now!!!

  • After seeing Martin on LK this morning, a very quick phonecall to the Halifax dedicated MEAF line has resulted in a £100 refund cheque winging its way to me now. Result!!
