I have had a C&G mortgage since the mid 90s. I cant remember the first occassion very well but I do know on deal changes over the years that the fee booklet was enclosed with the paperwork.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

Whatever Markymark. I am sure there are people who think all banking should be free, but I am not one of them.0

Glad to hear it, Devonjem.
And I found myself agreeing with Steve_xx on another thread this very evening.
I'm pleased we don't have to always disagree about everything.0 -
I paid off a mortgage with Bradford and Bingley in 2005 . I no longer have any documentation about my mortgage... not even an account number or an exact figure of what I had paid or agreed to pay in 1999 when I took out the mortgage. However, I wrote to them using the template letter I found on this site last week asking for any over payment to be repaid. It transpires that their records show I actually paid £175 exit fee plus £60 fee for the release of my deeds. I had only agreed to £75 fee and no deed release fee. They sent me a cheque less than a week after my letter to them, for £160!! Easy money which is better in our pockets than theirs! Thanks to MSE for the advice!:j0

I've only just registered and can't find previous discussions! I just got notification from Bank of Scotland that I'll have to pay 195 Repayment Administration Fee. Apparently this was in my contract, page 10. Am I on a hiding to nothing as it was in my contract?0

If the exit fee is what you agreed to originally, then yes.0 -
Being a newbie to this site I have only just found this forum & after reading others comments I intend to seek out my Mortgage agreement from last year with Nationwide & give it a go, although I've not seen many comments referring to Nationwide BS
No harm in trying eh!!0 -
Read the article on reclaiming MEAF's, thought why not give it a go. Downloaded the template - posted to C&G and received a cheque back within 7 days (which included interest which I hadn't asked for).Result!Thanks....0
