Help! Suggestions needed!

What do i get my 4 year old godson for Xmas? I have NO idea whatsover what kids like. I've so far been ok with plastic toy type things (tractors and diggers have gone down well) but now he's 4 (5 next Aug, he's just started school) I wonder if plastic stuff would seem to babyish for him.

Budget is up to £30.

I also like being the cool auntie!

Also struggling with 2 newly acquired nieces aged 12 and 10. Family seem to always get them matching presents but I reckon that would have annoyed me if I had been them so want to go for something different but also cool. For their birthdays this year they had pretty little jewellry boxes and a diary the year before. Last year I got them matching bracelets but have run out of ideas on the jewelry theme.

Love the book idea for them but I'm worried they'll already have them - there is a really good thread on books for a 9yo this weekend.

Anway,

Parents with kids - please help!!

Thank you

For the 5 year old how about xbox or ps game. Go in to Game or somewhere like that and ask them for ideas. Regarding the girls ages 10 and 12 only one thing comes to mind Clothes. My neices always wanted clothes. Then you will be the cool aunt. They be saying my aunty brought me this.

All kids love money.. it gives them the chance to choose what they really want and also avoids the 'horrible' pressies people over the age of 50 had to endure in the past from their Aunties and Nans who did a lot of home knitting in dayglo colours

Or was that just me? :o
  • For the girls have you looked on M&S?The tatty teddy and hello kitty toiletries(bags/lipbalms/perfumes etc) are on sale and you could make them a nice set up and save pennies.
The 4 year old boy..my son has been NUTS about lego/duplo since that age.Argos and tescos have some boxes of it in their sale.Do you think he'd like that?

See, I have no idea what Moshi monsters is - it's a whole different world to me!

Love the lego idea - that could be perfect becuase even if he has some already/someone else gives it to him then you can never have to much lego.

Love the arts and crafts idea for the girls - particularly the younger - but what?!

A jewellery making kit would probably go down well, there's loads of different ideas on Amazon and E-Bay

Another idea would be a really nice art set - pens, pencils, acrylics etc
