hi.
am in a bit of a mess. had bailift round and he did a walk possession of my items. the billl is getting higher as he keeps coming when im out and he charges £200 for each missed visit. its now £800.the original bill is from the council for £100.
just wondering if the council would take the debt back and i pay it immediatly or have it taken from my jsa and i could avoid bailift fees??
thanks.

what is the debt is the bailiffs are collecting PCN,council tax .rent
what exactly is written on the walking possession agreement as in
goods listed and fees chargedI am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites
If you are in any doubt please seek legal/expert advice help0 -
dont let bailiff in!
pay (if you can) debt direct to council, or at least make arrangements.
Also make complaint re excessive fees, way OTT in view of original amount..Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
Yes to all of the above, however they will tell you no for the obvious reasons. They will have the agreement between them and always tell you NO.
If you just pay them directly what will they do refuse your payment? I think not?
You should really state what this is for as if it is something like a PCN then I would not be so concerned, Council Tax or Rent then get some help on here...0 -
they recently changed the layout of the road and i didnt realise as i went into an area not for cars.

So you are talking about a PCN. A moving traffic PCN, are you inside our outside London?
Do you want to pay the original PCN fee, you need to find out what the cost was at pre-debt level.

yes i would like to pay original debt. i havent got forms to hand at moment to give more info but its approx for £110 before the debts started to add up.
its for gloucestershire city council who passed it on to bailifts from bristol and suitor..
thank you.0 -
Ok well that sounds correct 110.00.
I would visit the Council website with the PCN number and make payment of £110.00. Do this as soon as possible.
You then need to call the Council and ask to speak to the Parking Services Manager. Advise them of the awful mistake that you have made, you sent a cheque back when the pre-debt letter was sent out, you know that it was not cashed and just can't understand why, you have now made a full payment and just don't know what else to do, it's caused you so much upset and with everything else you have going on at the moment everything is just a blur.
See what they say, they should sort you out there and then.
If you want to go even further contact your local Cllr, they are not supposed to get involved but by nature many of them DO! and one of them will be more than happy to cause trouble for them on your behalf.
Let me know if you need any further info...:T0
