Hi everyone,
We are to move in to a rented property soon. There is a real coal fire but the house is heated by central heating by Propane gas. Can anyone tell me their or others experiences you might know of Propane gas and how much it costs as compared to normal gas?
Thank you for your assistance

I've heard mixed reports about this. Up to 4 Times the amount of mains gas, while others have said its considerably cheaper.
Lets hope someone can shed some light on this.0 -
I've tried before to find an accurate comparison graph - but this is the best I ever come up with :-
http://www.woodenergyltd.co.uk/ft_costs.html
.... it shows LPG to be around 75% / 80% more expensive than mains gas. And I think that's in the right ballpark from figures I explored when I once looked to buy a new rural conversion that had LPG.
So - maximise the use of the fire for core heat?If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
There's a thread currently just above this - with quotes re Calor / Flowgas prices :-
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=365647
.. And stumbled across this comparison, across overall prices, whilst looking for something else :-
http://www.oftec.co.uk/consumers/comparative_costs.htm
.........it's not strictly very impartial, being from an oil supplier site. But they do claim the figures are sourced from an independent source. Which shows the LPG to be 75% more than natural gas?If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
