Wondered what people thought?
Would you take the points or sit and "take it" from the children?

Probably take it, knowing full well they'll speed on occasions like every adult in the country once they're on the road themselves.
Presumably the more self-righteous children volunteered to be on the panel, whilst the cool kids would rather do anything else.0 -
I would gladly take the opportunity to point out to the children that if they cross the road only when it is safe to do so I would find it impossible to run them over no matter what speed I was doing.0

Something very Nazi about this...Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

“They should concentrate on their speedometer because they could hit and child, and even kill one of us.”
Yeah. Because it's much better I concentrate on my speedo instead of looking at the road, isn't it, you stupid 8 year old moron. You're still playing with toy cars so what the !!!! makes you think you can tell me how to drive?
"Sir, you're leaving."0 -

I'd tell them to **** off.
I haven't even read the article, but it smacks of a Nazi state to me. A bit like the fascist NuLab who wanted kids to spy on and report people who overfilled their bin.
I can't wait for the, 'if you haven't done anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about' brigade to come along. Who decides what is wrong and what is okay?0 -

Thing is, how many of us look and talk to the passenger next to us while driving, or reach down to the stereo and make adjustments etc?
A quick split second glance at the speedo isn't as dangerous as those yet the dangerous careless "I don't give a damn and I'll excuse it somehow" drivers will always make out its more dangerous than steering with the knees while eating a McDonalds and drinking a milkshake with the other hand.
As for being morons, at least they have survival instinct which is clearly more than you have pendulum.0 -
The simple answer is don't use excessive speed and avoid making the decision. Unless you REALLY shift, you dont actually get there any quicker, you just show you have little control.0

I don't. Do you?TrickyWicky wrote: »Thing is, how many of us look and talk to the passenger next to us while driving, or reach down to the stereo and make adjustments etc?
There is a difference between a quick glance at, and concentrating on, the speedo.TrickyWicky wrote: »A quick split second glance at the speedo isn't as dangerous...
I'm more than three times older than they are and I'm still alive, so I'm not sure how you worked that out. I'll put it down as an attempt at a witty comment which failed for the reason that it doesn't make any sense.TrickyWicky wrote: »As for being morons, at least they have survival instinct which is clearly more than you have pendulum.
Own up. You're one of the 8 year olds from the judging panel, aren't you?0 -
Humm, tricky one, take the points & fine or take part in an entirely pointless (in both senses of the word) 30 min session of pretend self flagellation in front of the most pompous & self-righteous 11 year olds Liverpool can muster?
Think my decision would rest on how much headroom I had left on my licence0 -

Are you smarter than a [STRIKE]10[/STRIKE] 11-year old?
Clearly not.
Nearly 10% of pedestrians killed by motorists are killed ON THE PAVEMENT.
Not only that, but if I cross a 30mph road that is clear that is safe, but not if you come speeding along at 60mph.
Blaming the victim is absolutely disgusting.
I'd take a jury of 11-year-olds over the likes of you any day.
I don't have any sympathy for people caught speeding, it's one thing to speed but to get caught shows an extra level of inattention and foolishness. How is it that people manage to drive for decades with no points but some 'unfortunate' people get totted up within a couple of years? They are BAD drivers, totally inattentive, a menance to society, and we want them OFF the road.0
