If your budgets £10 maybe a decent pair of shoes?
I find big cars are cheaper to buy than small economical cars. Something cheap to fix is always high
on my list of priorities.
I dont care what other people think as long as it fits my needs and starts when i need it to.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
In terms of insurance, something like this is amazingly cheap: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Daihatsu-Hi-Jet-1300-rising-roof-S-reg-/200680442851?pt=UK_Campers_Caravans_Motorhomes&hash=item2eb97c8be3#ht_500wt_1287
Campervan insurance on my risk profile is less than half the price of car insurance. And the vehicle's still the size and economy of a small carMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
Just to let you know, my C1 is a 2007 model bought from ADT in Sept 10 for £3626. Value now between £3200 and £3300. If you don't beleive me look up the value of a 2007 5door Rhythm.0

The point raised was for just £400 more , who is going to buy a 4yr old when a brand new one can be had with warranty etc, when you come to sell it, that is when you will know it's true worth
I can see one on autotrader right now for £2585, £3200 gets you a 58 plate.
Looks like the new price goes up every year, as a new car for £4000 is nigh on impossible0 -

I think you're missing the point.
He said his car had lost only £400 in depreciation since he bought it, not since it was new.
Cheapest 2007 C1 diesel I can find on Autotrader is £4750. Cheapest Diesel C1 on Autotrader is £2995, but it is a 2006 model on 120,000 miles0 -
My C1 is a 5 door silver, now with 45,000 miles and is a Rhythm, cheapest one on autotrader is £3695 with 57,000 miles! So I think mine is worth around £3,200 easily. Cost per month roughly£30.0

I did add the line that the new price goes up every year, so did see the point, when he comes to sell/trade it in, then the few hundred quid loss, will be much more.0 -
Matiz one of the cheapest, and a better car than those who haven't driven one would think.
Do not consider one needing front discs though unless the quite expensive price to fit them is factored into the selling price.0 -
So quote your budget as the thread will seem !!!! and pointless, 11yr old car may well be at the knee point for reliability, and an 11yr old car is not going to be as economical to run as a newer car, which slides from the thread title, you may pick up a Corsa 1.2 2002 not overly expensive to run assuming the drink drive points etc are no longer valid on your license, but a car of that age and small to medium hatch is going to return 25-30mpg realistically.
where do you get those last mpg figures from????
i have an 8 year old st220 3.0litre v6 mondeo and i get 25mpg out of that.0
