Sorry about your dog Fuddle - it's awful when pets are unwell. I've had a good deal of help re my pup from the pet care board on here and I'm sure they will be able to point you in the direction of good but value for money dogfood that won't give your dog the runs. It's not necessarily his food though, especially if he's mostly OK and doesn't always have this problem. Have just taken the lurcher for his afternoon walkies and it is not nice out there, he is soaked to the skin and not speaking and I am raising up prayers of thanks to whoever invented wellies and waterproofs! Happy summer!!!!!! .
I suggest you stay indoors with plenty of chocolate and sloe gin until all danger of needing to swim home has passed...

FUDDLE - what breed is he? We had all sorts of problems with Docky until the vet ran some allergy tests and he can only have Duck and Turkey without being upset tummied. I can't afford duck for us so no chance of that but I do buy cubed turkey thigh, most supermarkets sell it, at the moment the co-op is cheapest with 2 x 500g packs for £5 and I cook for him and he's ok on it. For 7 lurcher sized meals I use 3 packs of turkey, 250g of pearl barley, 250g of macaroni, 1 teaspoon of garlic granules and just over 1 litre of water. It all gets simmered together and divided up into 7 tupperware containers. I put them in the freezer and get one out in the evening before bed to defrost for the next day. He also has James Wellbeloved dried kibble in fish, turkey or duck flavour and a big bag lasts ages. Not too expensive, I'm not sure paying lots more for pet food gets you better quality. Its a worry being mum to a pet that cant talk isn't it? Cheers Lyn x.0

Thanks MrsL
He's a rescue dog collie/beagle cross. He's very hard working. I emailed Burns dog food but I am keen on doing going down the meat route. DH isn't keen though for some reason. Going to talk about it after the football.

Fuddle, my pooch gets digestive upset with certain foods. I recently got her the best organic kind and sadly it upsets her. She likes Cesa$ but it was getting expensive, so have tried her on W!nalot and she loves it and no upset tums. She used to have just dried food, but as she drinks so much, she was making herself sick, so being an old dog decided to treat her. I did look into the raw food diet, and she loved having a raw chicken wing or two, but I was worried about it so stopped. If I had a pup now though, I would try the raw food, there's lots of advice out there, so read loads. I like the sound of Mrs L recipe, lucky lurcher!
and on a side note, bluddy football!! Both channels.0 -
