Blimey I can hardly keep up these days
Byatt your poor DD how awful that this has gone on this long.
Mrs C- you have my utmost respect, if I had to spend ten minutes with OH working in that environment I would be deep frying him!!! Maybe you should swap roles just to show him the other side of things.
Smiley - I think I would be telling Lazy Boy that its your way or the highway, its bad enough putting up with stuff like that when its your own child but when they are a lodger then that is beyond the limits.
Have been to local playbarn today and it was manic, queueing out of the door. Am totally exhausted now but hopefully kids will sleep. OH been called into work today and was told that he should seek private physio - their argument is that he can claim costs through their medical scheme - trouble is it takes weeks to pay out and I will have to fork out £50 per session in the mean time. My point being a private physio has no real incentive to get you moving again - after all at £50 a go would you want your customers leaving?
However NHS physio app is 8 weeks away so I really dont have any choice will have to find money from somewhere.
I do need your arty crafty experience now please - my dad arrived this morning (he is emptying their loft for insulation) bringing my old basket for cookery (its like new probably because I didnt get to cook much - they used to pull me out of cookery to teach math instead) it is a beautiful wicker basket. My mum wants me to fill it with plants outside but it feels a waste and I would rather display it inside somehow - but what to fill it with, obviously plants would ruin it so need other ideas??0 -
Yey! Keep at it Byatt, keep at it
Go on then, you've persuaded me.. I'll join you0 -

Oh kidcat, I'm picturing a display of homemade jams/preserves/chutney's/pickles/cordials. I'm green with envy!
Ok warning! Another hair brained idea coming up. I'm thinking of a project that's going to last years but would do you think of the idea of turning my front garden into a fruit garden but starting from seed (it's way cheaper) strawbs (got, need transfering) woodland strawbs, alpine strawbs, blackcurrent (got), elderberry, blackberry, sloe berry, blueberry, hawthorn.
Lots to look into but is there any reason why this couldn't work?0 -
Rowanberry Port sounds quite nice.... god if it rains much more I swear I'll take to drink. I meanit.0

SNAP re the basket with preserves, perhaps a pretty lace edged gingham lining and a few dried bits and pieces like poppy seed heads?
No reason why it wouldn't work Fuddle - I'm starting to turn my small front patch into a herb garden. Blackberry and blueberry can be propagated from cuttings. QD, pound shops etc often have 99p fruit bushes - bit hit and miss but I have a blackcurrant and 2 raspberries both fruiting this year from their plants. Be warned though, blackberries and raspberries are fast growers and can be very invasive and elder gets really big.
Feel guilty now - I have crochet hooks and a stash of wool and keep saying I'm going to do a granny square blanket but never get round to it ...."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -

Me too! I wouldn't care if it stopped raining now and didn't start again until October. The lack of sunlight is killing me!!!Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Fuddle - what a lovely MIL, glad you've got some relatives that appreciate what a sterling job you are doing and want to help and support you.
I have foraged but it depends on what else is going on - how much I get done - as it can be time consuming. I always make time to go sloe hunting as we love sloe white rum and I love sloe gin! I have also picked rosehips and made rosehip and apple jelly and rosehip syrup (loved this with fizzy water when pregnant as a posh evening drink that even looked like rose wine!) I've also foraged blackberries, crabapples, wild garlic leaves (amazing steamed as a side dish but you have to go off the beaten path away from the dog walking trails), elderberries (for jam), nettles for tea and risotto, wild leaves like dandelion and yarrow (same goes as for wild garlic) and any other bits and bobs that I can identify for certain when I see them. I would love to go mushrooming but I don't know enough about them, one of these years I'm going to go on a proper led mushroom forage, the National Trust do some near us at Malham and at Hardcastle Crags at Hebden Bridge but you do need to book. Not done much the last couple of years as I've been so busy with the kids and with the OU and we don't get out walking these days as DD is too heavy to carry, the chair is no good and she can't walk yet of course, even once she is walking I can't see her being able to manage much in the way of country walking for a long time (if ever).
Mrs Chip - you have my admiration for your restraint - I have run tearooms and so I'm a martinet on kitchen cleaning and I'd have clocked my OH one by now! In fact when we were first together my OH used to run front of house for me on his day off and we had words a couple of times when he wasn't up to scratch!0 -
Definitely doable fuddle, Aldi sell fruit shrubs and trees really cheaply - I just add one or two a year to my collection.
I have an established blackberry brier in the hedge, a blackcurrant bush (looks like a big crop this year) hazelnut, still very small but cropping a handful of nuts, and this year I added a tayberry, a redcurrant bush and two cherries.
I also have a lot of wild rose in my hedge and last year added lots of ramblers, so will have tons of rosehips. I grow loads of herbs, every year I buy thyme when it's whoospied at tesco and plant it, it grows lovely for a season. This year's cost me 26p.
Come on lizzy, get that crochet out and get going!!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

A correctly trained, ethical physio will always want the patient free from pain and with all bits working properly. And, if it's being paid for via an insurance scheme, the therapist will have been vetted. I'm sure there are cowboys out there but, as with all things, do some research beforehand and check qualifications.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.
