God I'm knackered just reading that fuddle. I wish I had some energy :( Cat's water on the back step was a solid lump of ice this morning but it's still sunny. I seriously need to win the lottery and get out of here - I NEED SOME SUN!! This has been such an odd year for weather eh?
Plans here were to clean the kitchen cupboards (white shiny doors that show every fingerprint) and the cooker which has stuff growing onnit.. but Asda kindly aided & abetted me by madly substituting my "Elbow Grease" with Shower Gel :rotfl::rotfl: sooo I am gutted that I can't do it ;)
Soap du jour is sweet violet, and after that if the temp rises I really need to try a walk because I've hardly been outside the house/garden for weeks.

For the last two days I have been decluttering the spare room, manly the wardrobe of doom and will keep at it until its empty.
Then OH is going to put some shelves in it and that is going to be my food storeage cupboard then I can start putting stuff in there out of the road instead of being squashed in the cupboard in the kitchen.

I have a small cupboard in the spare room that I keep all my cleaning, shampoo, shower gel and it looks so tidy.So thats my aim, although it might take a few weeks as there is so much stuff in there. At least it will keep me busy.

Ginnyknit Hows the curtains going I hope you enjoy looking at them.
Fuddle Thats a long list hope you get through it.:)

    :) Morning all.

smileyt, I spent most of yesterday with a pal who has a lottie near mine so we ran up together in her car. We each did an hour's graft on our respective patches before we go p'd off with beng p'd down on, IYSWIM.

I decided to enliven the endless chore of weeding by doing "themed weeding" so went thru the onions weeding exclusively for hairy bittercress. I will probably do the same patch today but will go for the horsetails. Blasted things. They grow 1 inch in 24 hours and yes, I am nerdy enough to have tested that in the field, as it were. Lottie is sopping wet and the water butts have topped over again. Howsomever, it probably won't last so I will plant out my pierced plastic 4 pint milk bottles from last year among the bean canes ready for the transplantation of the runners, the first of which should be big enough to fend for themselves in a week or so.

Have set the kitchen timer for 30 mins as my morning ration of internetting as I need to get washed and dressed and up there. I am pulling some stuff out of the shed tetris to freecycle it as I have far too much and it's getting unfunny in there.

Have a good 'un and hope none of us get trench foot, mold or mildew in unfortunate places..........:rotfl:

well here we are in our sunny but soggy caravan. it rained persistently yesterday but, still , kids had a lovely time at alton towers - no queues - and OH and i had a lovely walk. I love walking in the rain. Problem when DDs awning tent sprung a leak at midnight and we had to deal with moving her insixe and sort out soggy bedding. but we coped.

    Morning all :)

I'm a very tired and grumpy SDG this morning. I know that cats play complex games that cannot be understood by mere human mortals, but why did they have to play them at 1.30am and make such a racket while doing it. Add in DH snoring like he was practicing to complete at Olympic level and it wasn't a very restful night.

fuddle Good luck in that cupboard. I suggest tying a rope around your waist so you can get pulled out in an emergency. I have to say that mine looks worse, but it has no shelves in it.

*raises my hand and jumps up and down in excitement*. mardatha can I have some of that violet soap please? :D

Mrs Chip well done :T I hope that the business continues to go from strength to strength.

My plans for today involve recovering half the contents of my fridge from my friend's house and maybe going to a BBQ this afternoon. I also need to de-sugar the kitchen. It's amazing how far a kitchen aid mixer can spread icing sugar. I'm also trying to whittle down the laundry pile. I need to get some washing liquid from the attic. I have a stash of cleaning stuff up there as DH used to be able to buy stuff in the JohnsonDiversey factory shop. I'm going to miss it when it runs out.
Let's go and see if anyone else has achieved consciousness yet.

    Take care xxxxxx

Dee good luck with the wardrobe of doom!

I found this thread last night, and read my way through some of it....back to join in today, I'm not sure I qualify in terms of frugal toughnesss, but I'll try. I am financially careful :D because we made the choice for me to stay at home after our youngest son was born ( he's fifteen now:eek:), as he had some health problems, but I'm not as vigilant as I could be.

Fuddle ~ I love the colours for your winter house coat, I like strong vivid colours in the winter, they are cheering! My mil used to knit my boys woolly dressing gowns when they were tiny, always in rather amazing colours, but they were wonderfully warm and snug.

Mardatha ~ Violet soap sounds gorgeous :)

My plans for today are to get off the computer and get showered ( recovering from a bad night's sleep)

If the weather dries out enough creep up to the allotment and do a bit of weeding and plant out my runner beans.

If it stays wet, photograph and list some stuff on ebay.

Fit in some baking round this.

Morning everyone, I'm into my third day of the holiday and still feeling very CBA. But at least it isn't raining so far today! I've got a load of washing in, one on the line and the next few lined up. Have to make the most of this before the rain comes back in tonight.

I think I will take a bin liner or two upstairs with me and get rid of some of the clutter/junk as I go. The idea of tackling it in a full on blitz (my preferred MO) is just too overwhelming at the moment.

I've realised something... I only ever feel really motivated when it's warm and sunny. I must be part bear or something - I just want to hibernate when it's cold!

I'm doing a bit of my crochet rag rug project at the moment, and might go for a walk, or do some weeding in a bit... haven't decided yet.

Hope everyone has a great bank holiday!

    Hi LilySue, and welcome :)

There's still an awful lot of areas where I think I could do better. It's all about learning and reading encouraging stories from you all.

It's done! I feel such as sense of accomplishment. The fun can begin now. I should really paint those shelves but you know what... I CBA. They don't look as deep on the photo but there's a lot of space and I'm surprised I could manage to clear the second one underneath. I went in with the intention of just getting the top one clear for now. A bit of a result (and some boxes for DH to put in the loft ;) )

My mother-in-law is coming for the children so instead of baking this afternoon I'm going to try my hand at sewing my eldest a cushion. I'm not very skilled but fancy getting lost in a nice project. Washing done but I won't be ironing!
