    HI all, catsbells welcome home,

Kezlou - DS assessment was inconclusive so further testing required.

Am in shock, collected DS8 from school yesterday and he was very "high" turns out he had escaped from school - but noone told me. Took him in this morning planning on chatting to the Head, but his teacher came out of the offensive this morning. Managed to bypass her and speak to head, who was very apologetic and offered her plans to prevent it happening.

Trouble is I know he will now run at every available opportunity and as he can scale the six foot wall with ease I really dont know what to do next.

Surrounded yesterday by bad news, friends mum has died suddenly, two other friends having marriage breakdown, problems at school. One friend has been told by school that there "is something wrong with her daughter" (which there is) but she is refusing to consider the possiblity - "I am her mother I would know" she said.

OH didnt even get SSp this week - work "forgot" to ask him to get a self cert when he was in last week!

AM so relieved I have DS13 birthday stuff all sorted. I will throw a basics food shop on my credit card so we will survive.

Tough times indeed - rain never stops.

Kidcat, that must be so worrying and scary. I was lucky with DD in that she didn't run away like that, although she did a good job of hiding in stores. Cue me running around like a headless chicken. I hope you can work something out with the school as they are responsible for him when there. Have you asked other mums who have the same problem? Can you use a "tag" something like GPS? I know it sounds extreme, but at least you would know where he was. Does he have a phone?

I have hurt my back but no idea how! Very painful so can't do all those jobs that need doing.

Docky, Bess is cuddled into me right now. I love hearing from you and I'm sure your mummi will forgive you when she's calmed down. Our barks are worse than our bites! :)

We have sun, woohoo, actually we had sun yesterday too, hubby spent a couple of hours in the garden after work yesterday, I just sat in a chair on the decking & watched him! I did manage to sprinkle a few slug pellets around. Our dwarf peas are flowering now as well as the beans, we need to get the corn out soon as it's almost a foot high, should have been planted out at 4ins tall.
I've taken on an extra duty at work, it's not much but as our mortgage payments have doubled (our choice) every little helps. Hubby worked 45 hours overtime in 10 days & there is more to come. I've also worked an extra hour a day for the last fortnight, unfortunately I don't get paid, I just did it to keep on top af the work load as we were short staffed.

Thanks Kidcat. Sorry to hear about your sons escape. I'm not upto date with your son's situation. Why is he doing it? My daughter did the same when she was about 13 and eventually had other issues - bulimia etc and had to be out of school for 6 months and home tutored. She's come through it and in her 20s now and working and functioning well. I know how hard it is for you, mum. Many teachers are just herders really and anyone rocking their boat is seen as a nuisance especially if they are inexerienced. Every now and again you find a teacher who is great and really involved - sounds like you have one of the former. I used to teach and have a bit of knowledge on the pressures in schools. Hope it is managed well by the head who sounds sensible and on the case.

Ive got a Mr S shop coming later and as we've recently found that OH has a wheat allergy, Ive purchased about £15 of stuff for him, but some of the items are cupboard stuff which will keep and some sweet snacks that he'll appreciate. The shop was quite dear for us coming in at £85 after vouchers and discounts, but it did include quite a few meals for us all. The wheat free items are so expensive! Does anyone have any cheap options? With OH it blows him tummy out and makes him feel very sluggish and yuk!

Managed to put £500 into the ISA account yesterday OH has with Britannia and the rest will be put into an account and we try and keep a couple of hundred at home for emergencies.

Does anyone know of any good passbook savings accounts with a half decent rate?

Anyway, hope you're all doing ok.

    LOL

    Hello All!

I can back late last night after 4 days on the coast, so I've not caught up yet. Hope everyone is OK, & I aim to catch up later today.

I thought I'd give you all some notice about when my next holiday is planned - so that you can all avoid taking time off as I'm sure the weather will be vile :rotfl:. Stay inside from 28/5 for 5 days.

I have just spent the last 4 days being blown along the seafront, alternating being wet & dry & got so drenched I had to buy spare trousers as my others were too wet to wear. CS of course :D. There were a couple of times it was sunny from my window, yet by the time I'd gone down 3 flights of stairs & through the front door, the heavens had opened again.

But my journey home was in beautiful sunshine, which must have affected the trains as each one was late, so I missed connections (which always makes me nervous as I can't often read the display boards). Thankfully got home OK, just a bit fed up as I'd been really looking forward to a few days of solitude walking along a beach in the sun :rotfl:.

    More tea needed, I feel....
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...

Awweee Gardenia, such a shame. I will let you know in advance when I go away, because it's usually red hot, mainly because I hate it being red hot!

We have sun here, it's also quite warm. I need to take the washing off the line... again to wash it... again and hope it dries before more rain.

DD sent text at 3am (she had to be up early for flight) to say she would miss us like crazy. She won't have her phone with her for rest of the time, so hope she has a great holiday...cruising around the med.

I'm meeting a friend for coffee this morning, so need to make an effort to get dressed. Back is still sore, but somewhat better.

Oh, Smiley, my fabrics came from Jackies, they are grogeous.

PP, I don't know any cheaper products for wheat free, although Approv3d Foods sometimes have them.

Hester, well done on the extra job at work. It will all be worth it when your mortgage is paid. I assume you are trying to pay it off earlier.

If my ex could have waited for his share of the house, the mortgage would have been paid off next year and we both would have had a really good nest egg. He never could see the bigger picture.

I second the suggestion of Approved Foods - definitely worth keeping an eye on the website and jumping in pronto when they have wheat free stuff. I order all sorts of goodies (healthy stuff, obviously!!) from them several times a year, and find they give a very good service, never had a problem with them at all. It saves us loads on the grocery bill.
