Greenbee:- Thanks for that, I will try Epsom Salts to see if that will help. I am taking magnesium supplements already.
Wide awake at half three again with a busy day ahead. I did make an appointment at the doctors for next week so at least I have taken half my head out of the sand.
Car MOT today, not looking forward to outcome. I think it will need new brakes at least, hopefully not much else. It's being serviced at the same time so bill may be a bit hefty!:( Still, we are driving to Portsmouth next month so we need it to be running well. Cars! sometimes they are your arms and legs!:rotfl:Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -
Here are 2 pictures of the blanket. I guess it weighs about 4-5kg and nearly covers my length and I'm 5 foot 10. How best to wash PLEASE????To repeat what others have said, requires education, to challenge it,requires brains!FEB GC/DIESEL £200/4 WEEKS0

Lovely blanket
Is it definitely woollen or is it mixed fibres/acrylic? Why do you need to wash it? Could you spot clean it? Does it just need freshening up with a hang outside and/or a Febreze type thing? If it is definitely wool, how would you wash a woollen jumper?
If it was mine I'd check/try all of the above then probably put it in the machine on a wool cycle - but it's your blanket and your decision."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -

Its definitely wool and looks like the panels are stitched together with possibly cotton? Its like a double pearl stitch. It need freshening up as the dog has laid on it a few times:mad: Theres no visible marks on it. Maybe OH can just give it a shake and hang outside when dry.
I usually wash wool on a light wool cycle.
Thanks for the reply.

Still catching up (I swear that will be on my gravestone :rotfl:) & got to Shegar's posts - Blimey Shegar you have been through it hun. I was expecting to hear about a lovely holiday & how you feeling somewhat recovered after a break.... What a nightmare  & I prey you get the insurance side of it all sorted out (although why on earth you should have to do it on top of everything else ). Sending you a :grouphug: as I fear that is all I can do, sadly.
Hello Dee2012  & welcome. This is certainly the nicest board on MSE & I don't know what I'd do without it sometimes.
I shall now attempt to catch up with another flagon of tea...
GQ - loving your posts! Must remember to put tea down when I read on of yours, although I'm somewhat suprised at how much tea one laptop can absorb without giving up (maybe it needs the caffeine too?).And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...0 -

Morning everyone,
I had my appointment yesterday with the Occupational Therapy people
They where lovely but I am now not allowed to use my crutches as they are not safe for me to use as I am far to unsteady on my feet.
I am 57 but now feel like I am 97 lol.
I now had to use a rollator walker when I go out even for a short walk to the neighbour two doors down. Plus lots of other things to help me around the house will be delivered next monday. They are also going to come and do an assessment on me at home in three weeks time.
Byattyou where so right about them they where so helful and suggested lots of things to help me. They also suggested we try to move soon to a bungalow than we were planning.
Hope everyone s keeping well and dry this rain is a nightmare.53/200 Jettison in June0 -

Errrrm, I know the sun's not over the yardarm yet, but I do have home made plum vodka
In readiness for next month's even more tight-bottomed budget, I sneakily went to MrT's this morning and what with a bit of food shopping and putting petrol in, I'm now £44 into next month's pay, thank goodness for credit cards! Although I am hopefully selling DD's old bed on Saturday morning that will give me £50 cash, so hopefully I can squeak to the end of the month.
I feel sorry for the person who's been advised to move to a bungalow, but I've made the move already....I'm early 40s with a dodgy back and arthritic disintegrating ankle, and with the prospect of a gruesome operation that will change my live forever (I should have a better idea how many months or years I have til that 'wonderful' day), my lovely little DD and I made the move to a bungalow at the end of February this year.
We LOVE itI love the fact that whilst I still don't vacuum very often, I can now, on the very odd occasion, plug the thing in to one socket and do the whole place in about 5 minutes!
My OH who doesn't live with us, is disabled and so if I do ever lure him to my lair full-time, he'll find it easier too. We're happy as we are for now though, DD is used to having me to herself, so being a full-time mummy and part-time beloved, suits me down to the ground.
I'd also suggest washing the woollen blanket by hand, or stick it in the bath and get someone to trample it, not sure how to dry it....0 -

Car MOT today, not looking forward to outcome. I think it will need new brakes at least, hopefully not much else. It's being serviced at the same time so bill may be a bit hefty!:( Still, we are driving to Portsmouth next month so we need it to be running well. Cars! sometimes they are your arms and legs!:rotfl:
Keeping everything crossed for MOT - ours was done yesterday and passed but with an advisory we do need brake shoes replaced within next 2 -3 months, so hubby booked it in for next month that will cost £60 ( he is getting the idea that we have to work a month ahead these days) but at least car ok just now and they said should be fine for Glasgow trip in mid May, but I want brake shoes replaced before then to be safe so will to do a bit of jiggling as he has booked it for end of month and Glasgow is the 20th.
As car passed it means today I have some dosh to spend - I am volunteering at the annual knit and sew exhibition, done this before but past few years had to let them down thanks to the fibro, but been doing zilch all week to try and be ok, bit headachy this morning but will take everything I can to get there, so will have some money to splash out on new yarn as I had budgeted for bits and bobs for car and had put £50 a side for them.
All I have to do at the stand is sit there and talk about knitting and show anyone who is interested how to knit basics ( it will be the walking round the exhibitions that tire me so hoping hubby gets home so can do that before I start then rest on stand for the afternoon).
Right got to go and have my shower and start to get ready, gone were the days when I would get me and 3 kids all ready in 30 mins, takes me 2 - 3 hrs just for me annoying but so long as I plan can do it.
My second part of constant garden is coming today ( 134 vegetable plants) - of course has to come the one day I will be out, and as yet there is no where to put it as its rained every day for past month and I have just not had energy to go out and do it for over a month - did ask son but he hates getting wet, so tomorrow no matter how I feel I will have to get myself out there, its grass to be taken up to make the beds, once they are done its straight forward and can just rotate over the years, but so far only have two 3 ft by 6ft beds done and they are pools of standing water as ground is so sodden and this area is raised up but lower is so full of water it cannot drain down,we are not under drought orders and could quite easily go for a few months without water. One side of front garden is under 4 ins of water which is not going down - its the lowest point in the area so all the water drains to it.
Been reading but not posting, sending love and hugs to all when needed.
