:( OMG, kidkat, what a horror. That lovely home-made food.......
:( I would be mad and sad if it happened to me.
((((((BIG hugs))))))))))) you deserve them as life seems to be dumping it on you at the moment.
 I had a near-squeak with SuperGran's birthday as I had forgotten to put it in this year's diary back in January but have hastened out and got her some of her favourite flowers (carnations). SG keeps a minimalistic home and hates being stuffed up with belongings although the grandkids have to have their stuff on display, of course, or they'd be upset. I was canny enough to go to the market for the flowers and the card is a lovely one from my card stockpile (well, stock-tin) so the budget isn't blown. Having a run of collections I need to chip into at work these past few weeks; babies, retirements, marriages etc so the present budget is a bit stretched this month.
It's almost dark here at the moment and there is torrential rain outside which I'm hoping will lift before I have to go to a mate's place or I shall be one wet little bunny. My water butts will be refilling, and the front one if probably topping over. Why the heck didn't I move some water from the front to the back when I noticed the accidental drainage yesterday?
Uh-oh, getting a pressure-head and nausea, gonna be a storm any moment if I'm any judge. I feels it in moi watter............:rotfl:
Hope everyone gets home without a wetting and that the elastictrickery stays on.......... Laters, GQ x
ETA katieowl, why were you collecting poo? I don't know that this was done on a schedule and could be cancelled..........but I'm a bit dim sometimes.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Oh greent that's the sort of thing that happens to me. How awful to happen on your holiday.
Just when I thought things couldn't get worse have just been to doctor and i have pleurisy and pneumonia again. Feel like sobbing.0 -
Kidcat - grrr on your behalf about the food, my dh regularly culls the fridge of things he doesn't like and doesn't understand (like yoghurts and salad!)
Been to bank this morning to discuss mortgage and all positive apart from the valuation which is likely to scupper the whole thing, but at least we'll know where we stand. Going to start overpaying to get capital down as much as we can but is going to be a long term journey.
Apart from that spent a lovely afternoon with bessie mate and our godchildren, cakes, coffee, pub lunch and play area - not a bad way to spend an afternoon.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly
Emergency fund £1000/£1000
Savings for big things £90170 -
GQ really envious - my beetroot hasn't made an appearance yet & my broad beans that I soaked have joined them I think! Thought I'd try some healthy green veg in my plot so bought some black kale & some broccoli plants from the Garden Centre near me. DH sorted out the broccoli - after I'd planted them found he'd picked up sprouts! Ah well never tried them before so here goes
Kidcat - really feel for you & I'm sure your Mum & Dad think they're doing their best for you GrrrrrrSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Thanks for the support - I knew you would all understand,
Oh has arrived from work and hit roof - having assisted DD yesterday with the cooking he is not at all pleased, he was also really unhappy that both mum and dad are laughing about it. When mum asked about food for tomorrow he said you will have to sort it, I cooked it all once!
Trouble is mum will not cook at all so unless I cook or get DD to it will be yet more junk tomorrow, came back from doctors to smell of pizza - felt violently ill. Refused point blank to eat it - unfortunately not sure what I will eat.
Moving on before my blood pressure goes any higher (its up according to GP - I pointed out that after a day with my parents in house her blood pressure would rocket too - I swear every time I have slept today my dad has done something incredibly noisy and woke me, that includes drilling and sanding, no idea what he has drilled or sanded mind!)
I have planted nothing at all, originally the plan was to have a guy come in and refurb garden before I planted but with weather and finances that hasnt happened - so is it now too late to plant seeds? Am I better buying plants from garden centre?0 -

No hun, it's not too late to plant seeds except maybe chilli peppers, but most veg/salad is only just getting going and there are loads of flowers you can sow too.......what do you want to grow?

Kidcat, I feel for you, the feeling of lack of control in my own house would send me nuts. Have they really got no idea of how they have hurt you?
It was a glorious day here, but we had to do 'work' related things, and I get quite cross when that happens! We did get up into the garden at about 3.30, and had a couple of hours in the sun, but boy it was chilly when it went in!
Seeds - I am a bit behind Mrs OG, but we are both finding things are slow, so I am sure any later-sown stuff will catch up fine (I know there is not much point in sowing early, but still do it anyway then curse as everything grows at a snails pace). I don't have a greenhouse but have been a bit creative with one of those zip-up tomato houses, which I now find so flimsy it has little chance of survival up the hill. I have laid it on it's back, zip uppermost, and stood my pots of strawberries, peas, PSB, black kale and chard inside. Zipped up, and with a compost sack over the open end it has made a perfect little house for the young plants.
We have a start date for the business - Friday 4th May, the early spring BH weekend. We went to see the owner of our nearest holiday park (Statics, tourers and tents), a fab little site that overlooks Fishguard bay. It's not that big but will be just the right size for us to cut our teeth on. He thinks we could do two or three nights a week there, such is the turnover of campers. That would be very handy, as it is only 5 mins up the road!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0
