Well done with the suit Vj'smum, I have found most things will wash, when I ran the charity shop I once machine washed a heavily beaded dress to no ill effects, tho I did drip dry it on the line.
GQ I will see you your 20 FB pies and raise you 25 packs of basics stock cubes :rotfl:

Tinned pies?
Do any of you remember that they used to do tinned sausage rolls? I used to love them on a Saturday lunchtime with some baked beans. Its the pastry on the pies that make them so tasty I think thats why I liked the sausage rolls.0 -

Good bargain! Does anyone have any tips for stopping the eyes streaming please? I've tried the wiping the knife in bread one but still my eyes stream so much it hurts. Never used to be like this - are onions getting stronger, or is it a sign of getting older
I didn't make it out to stock up on pies yesterday so it will have to be monday. Haven't had FB pie since I was young & they were always so much better than my ma's awful cooking - such a treat for tea!
I didn't remember all those changes to tax credits being announced earlier this year. Prepareathome you are right it will affect a lot of people already struggling & I would certainly miss £2500. The changes won't affect me unless I'm lucky enough to find a job/childcare....
I've had another lazy day today - showered & then into clean fleece PJs & dressing gown (I do have real clothes, honestly :rotfl:) & I'm watching tennis snuggled on the sofa in yet more fleece, sipping tea with chocolate on the side - perfect. I have checked my home accounts though which is always a bit depressing, so I feel I need an easy afternoon. And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...0 -
Grey Queen - this is for you. My local Freegle has an offer of a pumpkin - a 280 POUND PUMPKIN :eek: Apparently you'll need either a trailer or van to collect"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0

Gardenia - odd as this sounds the only thing that actually has worked for me is to have a slice of raw potato held between my teeth (yes i know its odd) i know that top tail and half then in the food processor is good too and the old standby - swimming goggles!!Nonny mouse and Proud!!

Havent been on for a couple of days.
My sister who is 67 fell down the stairs on thursday night at 6.30pm, and didnt tell anyone, she lives with her OH he is 70, he didnt have his hearing aid in so didnt hear her fall.
I went round to see her yesterday and noticed she was in alot of pain, she wasnt using her right arm or turning her head very well. Asked her what was wrong then she told me about falling down the stairs asked her did she go to the doctors no, asked her OH why he didnt make her go, he didnt know she fell, asked didnt he noticed how she was not using her arm and how she couldnt turn her head, he just though she has a stiff neck.
Took her up to hospital, she has concussion as she hit her head on the corner of the door and has a lump the size of a grapefruit on the back of her head, also her arm was broke in two places.
They are now quite scared as the doctor told my sister she could fallen asleep and died. She said she didnt want to trouble anyone.
The doctor was very nice and spent time with them and explained they werent any trouble if they are hurt, but they must tell someone.
Then when we got her home they both got a lecture off me.
I want a phone call from them on the days I dont see them and I will ring them every night to make sure things are okay.
Tryed to make her understand that she is all I have left as our parents, sister, and brother have all passed away.:(Taking it one day at a time0 -
Hello. I'm a newbie, so please be kind. My OH has just been made redundant, I'm disabled and we have 2 kids (14 & 16). OH is trying for loads of jobs and as we have some savings, we're not entitled to any help so have had to make quite a few changes. We have sold 1 of the cars, started using voucher codes on all shopping online orders, printing coupons, using up what we have and making a meal plan each week. Have also switched insurances and utilities which have saved us a few hundred pounds. We don't go out but we do have Sky. I called them and told them of our situation and they've given us 12 months half price with a £100 Tesco gift card. We have no debt and the mortgage is paid up, so we are lucky in that aspect.0
