I think if you "deliberately" record a conversation then you have to declare it beforehand.
Not sure of the position if you just happen" accidentally" to have something swirched on.
Good luck with the job and with your health.
I am making a lasagne tonight with half the big pack of mince from yesterday. Will be adding lots of onions, grated carrot, chopped courgettes and peppers and maybe a handful of lentils and oats as well. Got an inadvertent compliment when dd asked "Is this a home made burger?" and when told it was looked pleased and said "That is all right then!" What a change from the days when they thought home cooked was boring and somehow inferior.
Still have veg left from trip to Al*i last Saturday so might make pot of carrot and coriander soup (dh grew coriander in a big pot) to use up bits and bobs and with the remains of yesterdays apple crumble will make a three course meal for all five of us tonight.
I have never been able to find the 11 pence baby bath to fill hand wash container so just keep my eye out for own brand bath or shower stuff. I did get a couple of pottery hand wash containers and use these as well as refilling old plastic ones.
To anyone wanting to use JackieO's idea of pottery dishes to freeze leftover portions or to batch cook and freeze - the pound shop or local Boyes has various sizes and colours. Sometimes I use them to portion up helpings from a huge pot and it makes the meal look a bit more special. DH who is not easily impressed said "it looks like a posh pub meal";)

Recording conversations is not advisable if you haven't warned the other party that you are doing so. Which kind of obviates the whole point of doing it. And I doubt would be admissible in a tribunal in any case. A much better idea is to take contemporaneous notes and have a witness present.
These days, if an employer wants to get shot of you, they can find a way if they do their fancy footwork. Don't give them an opportunity, I say.0 -
You can, quite legally, record conversations for your own reference. Which of course allows you to quote verbatim even if you can't use the recording as evidence. What you can also do is inform someone that you will be recording all calls in the future and it's then down to them remembering. Obviously it helps if you're recording the call in which you warn them you're going to do that
(If in doubt you could also cover yourself by saying you've hurt your finger/hand and won't be able to take written notes.)

I to had a good look at the geocaching and found that within a mile of me there are 18 caches, the village it seems is full of them ( that is just in one direction- one about 5 mins walk from my door - and about 10 in opp direction on edge of the transtrail ( an old railway line that used to skirt the city which is now a nature walk. Ok am not up to walking much these days but I have my scooter ( which since getting in Sept I have hardly used as hubby moans about taking it apart and putting in car) so as most of the caches are wheelchair friendly I can amuse myself by going to them, will get me out the house yet not going to far as admit very nervous about going anywhere in scooter along in case I do something daft in it like knock someone over, just not sure if its powerful enough to manage hill up to village, well maybe time to find out - well when its a bit warmer anyway. I to am another one who used to love walking - put me in countryside and hills and I would walk all day, hubby got dragged along and although enjoyed the views never really enjoyed the walking and if it rained he hated it, he hates getting wet with a real passion ( but put him in bath or shower and he forgets to come out).
Right never got to Mr S last night and so today my first day of my GC of £35 for the month, got to admit instead of worrying am actually looking forward to it ( remind me when I moan later in month). Argos first to see if manager has found out where to send my MP3 player to be repaired, if not will have to get money back, handy but no player.
Two hours later
Opps forgot to post this before I went out, left laptop on as was running a scan - no address for mp3 to be repaired as yet and my store doesn't have any but next nearest one does so they have reserved it and will collect it tomorrow ( we are planning on going to the new big B&M tomorrow and other store is in that direction, although a good bit further on).
I popped into Cool Trader ( keep forgetting about that place as its tucked right at end of shopping centre opposite Argos with clothing stores ( all modern for young and skinny think the largest size they do is a 10) next to it so I never go down that end unless going to Argos) and amazingly their prices for frozen things have not gone up and weights are same so was pleased about that and so bought frozen stuff I had on my list to buy. Had a look in 99p shop and they had just 2 packs of 3 normal size tins of tuna for 99p left, did get same ones in big B&M at beginning of Jan but none left and its so expensive elsewhere, its just the flakes but that is fine as only me that eats it - in sandwich, salad or with pasta, but hubby loathes it, mind you had done it in cutlets and he will eat it that way, mmmm not made them in a while so might do them tomorrow. Tonight we are having thick vegetable soup with lentils, barley and yellow split peas in it served with Bread - do have half a wholemeal loaf (HM) left but might just go and put a different type in BM to have with dinner.
Its freezing out but sun is shining so made it a pleasure being out - my CS duffle coat I bought months ago brand new keeps me so snug.
A bit more energy today so getting bits done like changing one of the bulbs in bathroom - hubby will tell me its gone but never thinks of getting ladder and changing it, so got him to bring up ladder and I changed it. Next get my picker up, grab thing and go and do my garden patrol - picking up the rubbish people throw over the fence as they walk past, be glad when at last I have high bushes as 3ft fence is useless to stop them, but can't have any higher under conservation rules:mad:
Not feeling the urge for a cigarette as bad today as yesterday thankfully although if someone was to offer me one not sure if I would say no, just as well don't know any one who smokes apart from one neighbour and she never offers only asks for 1 or 5, so told her I stopped long ago as was becoming a habit of hers, like every other day did I have some to spare, I never minded giving to someone who smokes and cannot afford it, but one day we were talking and turns out she and her hubby have twice the income we have, so call me mean but felt if I could manage to buy my cigarettes I was not going to make myself short for them. She also borrowed money to buy a packet oh about year a so ago and am still waiting for that back. See her every so often and she always says Hi but never any mention of the money, if I owed anyone a penny I would be far to embarrassed to talk to them if I couldn't pay it back for any reason.
Anyway enough ramblings

Just a mention for all those walkers and us potential walkers/getting out and about, nervous types, (PAH I hope you do give it a try and I am sure you will get more confident as time goes on with your scooter; just like driving.)...anyway, in the Freebies forum near the comp Forum, further down on the front page, (maybe I should just do a link!), are 2 great links about the types of walks available over the UK. Seems we are being very "in vogue" as there is plenty of encouragement. I want to get to the point where I use my YH membership card (got it for free so just have to pay for a room, added my DD too).
edit: linky
Wanted to add about the Freebies forum, that's where I started off in MSE back in 2009. I have got some great freebies (including a full sized bottle of Glayva!) over time and always worth looking daily.0 -
