Oh yes Byatt, and it wasn't just toilet rolls, I remember there also being shortages of candles, sugar and salt. Do you remember the power cuts, I can remember typing by candle light and it being so cold in the office that we all wore our hats coats and scarves, no gloves though that just didn't work with a manual typewriter!0

Well, I couldn't wait, so made butter in the Kenwood, used both wire whisk and K blade, and both worked!
From the two 600ml pots I got 578g of butter and a pint of buttermilk. I think I am just about even on cost. It is a magical thing to watch, where does that yellow colour come from????. Anyway OH very happy to have the knobby end of his HM bread with my HM butter - how sad are we? Tomorrow I will make scones with some of the buttermilk - anyone know if it freezes? Just got to get me a Jersey cow and we are sorted!

Havent been on for a few days, had a friend pass away suddenly in sunday.
She only 55 had been out visiting friends with her DD and GD, she wasnt feeling to well so they left early to go home.
She only got to the footpath outside friends house and she collapsed and died.
It was a brain tumour, she had been having headaches for about two weeks and had made an appointment to see the dr on Monday.:(

Kimsmum's post reinforces what we all find hard to do - look after yourself and live in the moment.

I'm so sorry it's a struggle today. Are you off your food? Or is it the exhaustion? I know it's frustrating and depressing. Hugs. :A
Kimsmum, that is so sad. And such an awful shock for her family and friends. I never know which is worse; knowing so you can prepare, or just suddenly. I think of course the suddeness is worse for families. It just goes to show you just don't know what is going to happen and to try and make the most of each day.0 -

I am thinking of you and hope you have got off the sofa and opened your eyes today - it was sunny and full of hope.0
