DH has chosen his own fishing stuff for Christmas, but I have bought the obligatory (large/huge) pile of new books and a few bits. My best secret - a hedgehog house. He'll love it (it is like the Good Life here). I'm more excited about that than anything else this year.
I've finished buying other than something cheap and cheerful to bulk up SIL's bag. Unfortunately I can't think of anything he might want which is within my budget.0 -
OMG My kitchens a mess
made gingerbread mix its in fridge need to roll and cook soon.
made 12mini fairy cakes
just about to make 24 normal fairy cakes

Gailey, love, you make me tired just thinking about how much work you do everyday! Goodness me you are one very busy lady. Take some time for yourself hun.
Here in my bit of Cheshire it's been snowing since 9.00 am but not so much as half an inch has stuck properly:(. It hasn't stopped once but keeps changing from lovely big fat flakes to wimpy little bits -boohoo - I want proper snow! (Stamps feet).
Made a hasty dash to the shops earlier for some bits and pieces - famous last words - I ended up spending nearly £30 :eek:. Though I say it myself, I'm usually pretty good at meal planning/budgeting but my DD has just announced she may/may not be coming for tea...her husband and kids may/may not be with her........if she doesn't come, her husband and a friend might/might not.....oh, and in any case they will all come over on Sunday and will probably stay a couple of days...aaaaaaaaargh.
I came out of M&S (popped in to see if any whoopsies) straight into the new Family Bargains store next door - that's what I call from one extreme to the other!. Then round the corner to Mr T's. Very few bargains to be had out there today and all 3 shops were heaving with people stacking trolleys mountainously high! Goodness knows where the money is coming from, I thought times were hard for everyone, not just me!
Oh, Oh, Oh, just looked out the window and it's absolutely throwing down huge snowflakes and starting to stick. YaY!!!! Am off to sit and watch it with a nice cuppa in my hands.

Gailey love slow down - you don't have to be supermum. If it don't get done then 's*d it' A couple of biccies in a bag will go down well with any teacher. s for buying them stuff, as an ex CS manager the shop was always full of 'Best Teacher gifts' in September and new year, as much as they like them they dont have room for them at home.
Halfway through living room ie the couch is full of piles of stuff to go here there and everywhere and the table can actually be seen :rotfl: Need a long table cloth to hide the boxes of craft stuff underneath it tho'
DD pinched a couple of felt/fleece dec's to give to DGS's childminder and he picked one too which apparently he took to bed with him cos grandma made it (we guess thats why because he still doesnt say much)
My back is giving up on me - guess its the arthiritis in my spine raising its ugly head - it showed up on x rays but hasnt made its presence felt before this week :mad: I still blame all that lifting fetching and carrying when I ran CS'sClearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Morning guys
Brrr its cold but now snow here but least no rain:j
Opinions please in school playground today lots mums were hovering to give teacher huge collection so i made promt exit.
I dident contribute to collection as last year they made me feel crap as contributed so little.
Hubby said lets do our own thing this year
But has he dealt with it? No
Havent been near any shops and its too cold to drag kids out got house to tidy so can put tree up tonight.
Was planning on trying hm jamie oliver choc and gingerbread but looks measly compared to other mums huge wrapped gifts this morning.
did go in crappy spar but not much in there! got sugar, cake cases
reduced bread and beef for freezer.
went to meat machine van in pub carpark sounds bad but its great got sausage meat for sausage rolls so not good for my diet:rotfl:
get main meat next friday when kids not screaming.
we decided to visit farmshop. not sure we buy much but its so lovley and festive girls can feed the piggies.
Think we doing christingle service at church tommorow:)
Eldests so exited about getting tree later.
right best go sooo much to do!
Don't you let those other mums make you feel bad. I can guarantee you they are only doing it to "look good". It's ridiculous that huge gifts are given. A card is more than sufficient. I'd certainly love the jamie oliver biccies, but don't feel you have to.
xxxx:A
edit: when my DD went to primary school we lived in an affluent catchment area. It always made me sick to see certain mums going OTT just because they hoped their little darlings would get the best attention. These same mums cheated on their children's reading as they couldn't bear to let anyone think their child couldn't read or was behind. I was one of the volunteer mums for reading and saw first hand the reading records had been doctored not only by the child's mum, but by their friend's mums too.0 -
Woohoo - I got 2 of the ready packaged christmas cake making kits in Mr S for £2 each (reduced from £14) - that'll be MIL birthday cake sorted.
ALso got 2 of the decorating kits (icing, marzipan and cutters ) for £3 each, hmm that will do christmas cake and dad's birthday cake, perhaps i should go and get another for MIL's? Still how many cutters does a girl need
Got a sore throat -Hope i'm not coming down with anything. S'my burfdy on Sunday and the last 2 have been pants so i don't want to be ill for this one.
I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

I've got a sort throat too...just took the dogs out and tried to shout at one of them to come back, but just managed a feeble squeak. Not good.
