spender wrote:Sammy Kaye, I don't often wander onto these boards but I feel I have to write something. Quite frankly I don't know how half of us would cope with what has been thrown at you recently. Yet you are a shining example to us all, apart from the initial SMALL winge you have just got on with it and have tried to find solutions to problems when most of us would just chuck in the towel. You are an example to a lot of us moaners. My only sadness is that I do not live anywhere near you or else I would happily wash and cook you dinners.
Very eloquently put. Just what I was thinking. I have been dwelling on this post while I have been vacuuming and I don't know how you do it Sammy. I feel very humbled by your positive attitude.I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0 -
I agree with spender and allIcouldwishfor! So many people in your position would be (a) going spare with stress, and (b) taking out dodgy loans to cover their shortfall. I'm SERIOUSLY impressed with you.

Sammy. So sorry to hear what's been happening especially about your bf's sight - I followed some of your posts last year and was hoping things had improved. I can only re-iterate what Katieowl said - contact your MP. Sometimes when you're getting nowhere with official bodies a word from your MP can be the catalyst that gets things moving. If he or she is worth their salt (and their huge salary) they ought to be able to kick some ar** and get the tax credits/benefits offices to sort this out. Good luck.0

Hi All,
Thought id pop in and give you an update!
Ive been working non stop all weekend - I asked my boss if there was any extra shifts goign could he let me know and ive just worked the whole weekend! 2 - 10pm on friday, saturday 5 - 10pm, sunday 3 - 10pm. so fingers crossed that will help next months budget.
Also i signed up to lots of these paid survey things online - they seem quite good - dont know if i have managed to get any points yet or not but we'll see - one might pay off/out - whatever.
Also signed up ad entered lots of competitions - theory being if i can win anything i can either use it as a gift if i have someone i need a gift for or i can sell it to get a few quid - also managed to sell a CD on Amazon too - only got £1.09 for it but still thats better than nothing!!!
Have had a bit of a blip since my last post - all got too much and ended up cryign my eyes out in the bathroom twice at 3am but im good now - we are all good.
At the minute - gas and electric wise - we are managing without heating in the night and using a small fan heater to take the chill off the front room. - the rest of the house isnt used in the day and we have been lucky to have a few nice warm days here so the curtains are open and letting the heat in. Also since washign machine has been mended Bens had his big fleece blanket on his bed so he seems happier to stay in it that little bit longer too. Also have got material here so am thinking of makign some rice bags purely to chuck in our beds say 10 minutes before we go in so it is nice and warm and we wont feel the cold too much.
So basically gas is only being used to cook and to heat up water. Even cooking ive been trying to use the microwave and geroge foreman more as they use less energy.
Also i applied for anohter job - 5 night a week - working from midnight til 5am stacking shelves in the local wilkinsons - which means i can cycle there or walk adn it would be more practical employement - all the stardrops, cheap dog food, adn other household bits i can grab at reduced prices!!!
so that is how we are doing at the minute.
Oh forgot to mention - i rang TC again this morning and the guy on the phone said my complaint/claim had been in calculating and processing - it has since moved into Payments and Scheduling department!!! He said fingers crossed by the end of the week they should have got my bank account details and be looking to make a CTC payment into my bank account so hopefully ill get the back dated stuff too and all will be ok. keep your fingers crossed for me
ill let you know as things progress
love
Sam

The cupboards look full to bursting adn the freezer is jam packed - between what she ordered and discounted bread i cant fit anythign else in there!!!!!!Time to find me again0 -
