Hi ppl
I heard from my MP today - i literally had the confirmation letter to send the email at 11.45 - and by 12.03 he had rung my hosue and got mine and my bfs national insurance number.
He (Dr Hywel Francis MP) said that he normally writes to the tax credit office first to see why the situation is as it is but he may require me to come down to the office to see him if he has to make a phone call to them so he has me there with the relevant information etc.Time to find me again0 -
Hurray!!! Lets hope he earns his big fat salary!!!
Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
All the best

Good luck Sammy. I have everything crossed for you that this is an MP that believes in earning his big fat salary!Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -
Most MPs I've dealt with are really good with similar situations, mine, although I did not vote for her
has been extremely supportive with many things I have passed on to her for advice and halp with. Hope yours manages to kick some butt with the CTC claim!!
One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
That's great Sammy. Make sure you gather together all the relevant paperwork (copies of emails, letters) etc, so you have all the info at hand if you have to go and see him. If you can do it, it would also be good to have a sheet of paper where you've written down all the key dates - who you wrote to/phoned/emailed and when etc.0

Hi Sammy. Excellent letter from Katieowl but just wanted to add that if it's easier you can phone your MP. You'll no doubt get the secretary first but they should arrange for him/her to call you back.
Good luck with the job interviews - keeping everything crossed for you!0 -
Sorry, everyone, for last post - am complete idiot and didn't read the last page and was a page behind the rest of you. Well done, Sammy, hope the MP does some good. Good luck again.0

PinkGirl wrote:You could also try ringing NTL and seeing if you are on the bset package. I was paying about the same as you so rang them and they offered.
TV - 'family package' 9.50 for 6 mths then 19.50 after that
4M broadband 12.50 for 3 mths but if I phone up again they'll re apply this
TV 1.75 or something (low usage)
So for 1 phone call I got the bill down from 65 to 27 ish! and looking at you budgeting skills you could make tha money go a very long way!
Sorry to hear things have gone pearshaped but well done for being so organised!
Facing similar problems, I did exactly the same thing re NTL/ Telewest. Didnt have to push, just explained Id been a loyal customer but was tempted to leave by other cheaper alternatives and what could they offer to persuade me to stay.
Got mine down to free tv, phone at £9.99 and bb (no idea what speed as it really dont matter) for £13.99... from £54 thats quite a saving. CS lady told me to just ring in again when the offer expired and they would see what else they could do
As for gas/ electric, EDF offer "energy assist" rate for those with a "chronic disability" - worth a try? They can offer 15% off bills till end March and 10% off for the rest of the year if youre struggling to pay the bill.
They also have a hardship / trust fund customers can apply to for help towards o/s bills and other needs on merit.
Lentils and soya mince go a long way to making good healthy but low cost meals so have a go, and it sounds great that you have access to fresh veg. Get the soup pan on and have a go, just about anything goes and its warming and filling.
Using the slow cooker can help to cook cheaper cuts of meat till theyre completely tender too and may save you the hassle of cooking when you come in from work so you dont need to eat expensive processed foods. Theres loads of recipies on this site and I am having fun working my way thro them and saving money to boot.
((((hugs))) gal and hope things improve for you and some of these little hints and tips help

Hi All
I thought id email you all with a well needed update on how we are doing
Well since my last post
* Ive contacted my MP and he is sorting my tax credits out (we are still
being palmed off between departments though)
* Boyfriend found out yesterday he is able to have his operation done so we
are literally waiting for a donor to turn up now so he can have the operation
* Boyfriend got a job which accepts him with his current disability and
accepts tht he might need to take leave for an operation etc and can work
this round him working
* We are financially ok - wouldnt say stable but we are not as bad as we
were now. Boyfriend is due a pay cheque of £80 today because he started
a job just before the cut off date for that months pay but is due his first
full pay cheque on 23rd March
we will be ok now.
* Ive just applied for an extra 12 hours at my job
* I earned my first £10 voucher on Pigsback last week.
So here is a happy, stable and very thankful family - just again wanted to say thank you for all the kindness you all showed us and i wanted to let you we are all good here.Time to find me again0
