Bank of Scotland pay out update

our settlement offer included interest up to 2nd november, chased last week and no cheque had been raised.

Chased again this morning (I think we are week 6 now), and was advised that they would escalate this to the manager, and it should be sorted in another 30 days!!!!!

I said that this was unacceptable but was offered no reassurance that it would be any different.

Disappointing - especially so close to Christmas. I know that we are just weeks away from being debt free but in my heart I had thought this would by by Christmas - with this and the others that we are waiting payment on it is beginning to sink in that we won't be and I am struggling to hide my disappointment. Its a good job that we are had planned a budget christmas this year!

So sorry to hear this and I do hope you receive your refund before Xmas.

Your MP may write to them for you on your behalf, that maybe worth a shot.

    Good luck.

  • Made my friday phonecall to BoS today - again no news!

Audrey confirmed that it had been escalated as a "priority" and was with the payments team who i was not allowed to speak to.

The latest article on the Lloyds delays says BoS customers were not affected but i beg to differ.

The interest was calculated to 2nd November.

Shameful. Has anyone else specifically had BoS pay outs and after what time period from accepting the offer?

Hi jules, sorry about your situation but I have just received cheque today from Sainsbury's/BOS after exactly 11 weeks from submitting complaint. It was upfront PPI so was upheld quite quickly but I haven't had to chase at all (they had 16 weeks) it was calculated up to 12 Dec. Really hope you get yours sorted soon

    Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid :)
    MBNA £3,600 Paid :)

Keep your chin up hun. By the way I never had to send acceptance letter back, they paid out if they never heard from me and they only waited 3 days to do that. Offer received 18th Nov, cheque dated 21st Nov but not received until today, looks like they write the cheques and hang onto them for a week or so, keep the pressure on ;)

  • Made another call yesterday, 12th December, to chase up the cheque.

Spoke to another lady in the call centre who acknowledged all my previous calls and that it was escalated to the payments team on the 2nd December - but no update.

She said there were no queries with it and she would escalate it to her line manager.

    My weekly calls continue.....

Hi there, please don't see this as gloating but having followed this thread for the past few weeks, I find it ridiculous they have kept you waiting for so long - there is no rhyme or reason to the differing timelines folks have to wait to receive what is essentially "their" money.
Like Dilus I didn't have to do anything once my offer came to me (other than to wait for the cheque to arrive) - I received my offer letter on 25th Nov (stating interest up to 20 Dec) and received the cheque through the post yesterday (12th Dec) - from start to finish (and the start point was just a phone call - I didn't have to even complete the questionnaire) the whole process took approx 6.5 weeks - knocks Tesco (who took 22.5 weeks) into a cocked hat.
I truly hope you get satisfaction soon - this is so unfair on you.
